With Raw not being aired next Monday night, TNA is doing a 2-hour show on Spike Monday night during Raw's regular time slot. They are supposedly doing a show with old PPV matches on them. Now I don't know for sure it's going to be just replays of PPV matches or if they will be redoing matches.
But are they wasting a golden opportunity by not having a live 2 hour show? I mean this Sunday is their PPV, the next day is the 2 hour show. Raw isn't on, so this should set them up with a perfect opportunity by offering fans a fresh product.
I know TNA isn't exactly producing quality product on a regular basis, but having a 2-hour slot during Raw's usual time is the perfect chance to bring in new fans. This could be a new start for TNA, use the 2 hours to put over guys who most fans outside of TNA and the indies won't recognize (Samoa Joe, Styles, Daniels, etc) while using names casual fans who haven't watched TNA would recognize (Angle, Christian, Team 3D, etc.). Fans just tuning in to TNA will see guys they know and remember and also see a bunch of new faces mixed in.
If they do air just 2 hours worth of PPV matches won't help their cause because any new fan would be lost if they see Samoa Joe wrestling AJ Styles from last year. They need to get their booking team on the ball for this episode, build up their main wrestlers and gain the new viewers interest. Make the fans want to tune in every Thursday night. They need to do something that makes them stand out in a good way. If they end up just putting together some bland show, non-TNA fans will never give the promotion a chance.
