Impact Rating Plummets Due To RAW; Rating Down 40 Percent

Last night's airing of TNA Impact took a huge hit in the ratings as the show drew a 0.59 rating going head-to-head with a special Thursday night airing of WWE RAW. Last week's show drew a 1.1 rating, and thus there was a 47% decrease in viewership this week. This was the least watched edition of Impact in the show's history since the move to Spike TV. Additionally, the two hour replay of 'This is TNA!' that preceded last night's Impact drew an even lower rating, a 0.48 cable rating.
'Pros vs. Joes', which aired right after RAW and Impact had concluded at 10 p.m., drew a 0.77 rating. 'Inside the UFC', which usually draws a fraction of Impact's audience, drew a 0.46 rating.

I think it's hilarious, because it proves how little interest there is in TNA by anyone other than WWE fans.
yea and wwe's ratings droped too i guess there viewers went to survivor and csi.

Or the casual fanbase that didn't see it on Monday and didn't feel like looking for it.
Unless they're in their regular timeslot or it's not a Holiday, they usually do around a 3, which is about the current loyal fanbase.

Well if anyone thought that TNA's rating would not plummet as a result of Raw on Thursday was flat out hallucinating and a moron.
This was expected by everyone, it should come as no surprise.

Personally I'm glad TNA got crushed by WWE on Thursday night.
The fact that they went head to head with Raw should help them out a lot now. Hopefully TNA will USE this rating to EVALUATE themeselves as a result. May they can drop a lot of the nonsense on their programming, and present themeselves a lot more professionaly.
Impact deserved that .6 rating....first off, the first half of that show was atrocious. You'd think they'd try and grab a piece of the WWE audience by presenting a good show, but nope...instead they came off looking like a bush league promotion. Arm wrestling match? LAX in a squash match? Chris Sabin acting like an old guy? The opening promo was good, I'll give them that.
Now as far as the second half of the hour went, Raw suddenly turned amazing with their main event, and TNA presented a horrible one. Number 1, get those Ron Killings vignettes off my screen...that was so fucking annoying I changed the channel to Raw. Second, when you're doing a star studded main event like that...start the match 10 mins earlier. What's the point of starting it at 9:45 when there's going to be like two commercial breaks that completely chop up any steam you have?
TNA needs a complete makeover, and hopefully they'll look into that now when they realized how badly they were crushed by WWE. That's something WCW was able to do and TNA hasn't. Even Eric Bischoff stated this....that TNA is alright but there's nothing separating them from WWE.
The only semi good news is this...obviously TNA's fanbase is WWE's fanbase. Half opted to watch Raw, and the other half opted to stick with TNA. They need to grow their hardcore fanbase a lot more. Oh yeah, and get some better commentators...Cornette was alright but TNA is in desperate need of a heel commentator and someone who doesn't sound like he's taken 15 red bulls.

Needless to say, I doubt Monday Night IMPACT! isn't something happening anytime soon.

Yeah, pretty much. Raw losing ratings appearing on a night that's not normal is par for the course. Even during the Attitude Era, the dog show affected ratings.

I agree (Except the commentary parts, because I didn't watch either) Howver, this was not a wakeup call for anyone. TNA fans will still scream "NEW AND INNOVATIVE," TNA will continue to book like a Mickey Mouse promotion, and WWE won't give a shit because they're leading TNA.

^ Well, KK, you beat me to the post.
Basically, no one running any major pro fed in America has any brain right now. I dunno if ROH is booked well or not, but they're not quite up to the major fed exposure, so if they are, then they don't count.

The oen thing I've got to say is it should be incredibly easy to compete with Raw these days. It just won't happen because TNA isn't serious. And it's obvious that they're not serious, when you look at what they put on Monday Night.
Honestly, a Monday Night "Raw Replacement," which is how it was booked, should be near PPV quality, and certainly live. All the stops should be pulled out to get attention, and fuck going head o head with Raw at this point. Instead, we get reruns.

I'm actually quite impressed, I would of thought that TNA would lose a lot more than 40% of their ratings. I thought it would be in the region of 75%.
I think there is good news to take from this. The majority of people who watch TNA choose to stick with TNA over RAW. Which is far better than I thought they would do.
TNA are so far from being WWE competition. Everyone knows that, except possibly a few people in TNA who are getting too big for their boots. This proves they can compete, but one day, not now.

I want to see some head-to-head combat. Move Impact! to Monday nights from now on. Kill that fucker dead.
But seriously, LOL. What a grand piece of wrestling news to start my day.

Well, It means about 3% more than half would choose to stick with TNA over raw on a Thursday. Which means they're barely keeping half their audience, should we assume that a 1.1 is typical (Close enough). This is on their "home turf," vs a show that is not normally on in their timeslot.
So whether or not they'd choose to stick with TNA in all circumstances is up in the air. In this one, this kind of number is not a good thing.
