Is the AKI engine used for games like No Mercy, WCW Revenge, WM 2000 the best wrestling game engine ever?

I think so...

3D, yeah.

FPW is probably number one all around. I'd like the system tweaked a bit for smoother, not as predictable (see: build up) matches though.

Yeah. Get an N64 emulator and check out Virtual Pro Wrestling 2. Probably the pinnacle of the engine.

AKI's engine rocked. IT's too bad Midway got TNA's game.

King of Colosseum

It is made by the same company that makes firepro, and is essentially a 3-D wrestling game, with an even deeper version of the firepro engine.

For what system?

Also, what company made Virtual Pro Wrestling 2?

Aki made VPW 2.

KOC 2 is for ps2, but it is an import, so you need to mod your ps2. Most advisable method is putting on a fliptop. Takes 15 minutes and is a lot less risky than getting a modchip. Very much worth the trouble if you plan on buying either KOC 2 or Firepro R. If you own both, you may just cum in your pants.

I dont know which firepro you own, but in firepro r, you can hit bigger moves a lot more frequently early in the match than you can in the GBA versions. Its not unrealistic. You're not gonna hit two in a row or anything, but it happens more often than in previous versions I played, and really mixes things up. Never played FPD tho, so i dunno if it was like that there, and just the GBA versions were anal about it.

Not looking to do any modding. I guess it'll be emulation, once I get a better pc.

They've got softmods for the PS2 don't they?

Don't know that term, but if you are referring to an easy 15 minute mod, without any sodering, yes, fliptops are cheap, easy to install, and safer than mod chips.

Well, I was referring to things similar to swap magic.

Yeah so was I. Swap magic doesn't work without installing a fliptop or ghost switch.

flip top is hella easy to install. It's definately worth it.

Also, KOC2 by far has the coolest reversals of any wrestling game.

I was playing KOC2 yesterday and saw a reversal I had never seen before BTW.

I think FPR has the best move list though. And the best CAW.

Aren't they the ones who insist you can do it without modding your console AT ALL?

Where do you guys buy your imports anyway?

You don't have to, I have one. All you need is the Swap Magic Disk and the Slide Card. All you need to do is take the front of the CD Tray.

if i recall, i was reading a Chris Sabin interview on IGN and he said that he thinks the game will be good because they are trying to emulate the AKI engine. Sabins a gamer, he knows his shit...so heres hoping.

Slide card are still considered a form of modification. As well as the least reccomended. They have a tendency damage the system permanantly.

I'm not sure where I got my copy of KOC2... It was either Ebay, or PlayAsia... or maybe Yesasia. I know my copy of Firepro r came from Playasia I believe.
