I don't know what you currently listen to, and I'm sure you've already heard a bunch of these bands, but here's some of the metal I listen to:

3 Inches of Blood, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Atheist, At The Gates, The Black Dahlia Murder, Blind Guardian, Carcass, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Dark Tranquility, Darkest Hour, Death, Dimmu Borgir, Glass Casket, Himsa, I, Iced Earth, Immortal, In Flames, Kalmah, King Diamond, Lamb of God, Mercyful Fate, Opeth, Shadows Fall, Slayer, and Testament.

Maybe you can wade through that and find something you've never heard.

Most of the metal I listen to is usually older stuff. Most (if not all) of the metal on my Playlist, you probably already know. Remember that I do not delve very deeply into the Metal Genre, some of these could be way off, others could be spot on. Take it with a pinch of salt.

Tesla
A Perfect Circle
Avenged Sevenfold
Chemlab ('Coldwave')
Combichrist (More kinda darker industrial)
Crossbreed
Dropkick Murphys (Not metal at all but still fucking great)
Drowning Pool
Godsmack
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
KMFDM
Laibach
London After Midnight
Megadeth
Metallica
Monster Magnet
Motley Crue
Rammstein
Rob Zombie
Saliva
Twisted Sister
Van Halen
White Zombie

Maylene is amazing. :D Found out about them because the singer used to sing for Underoath, and totally fell in love with them when I picked up their album.

I did read it. It actully made things worse. You know some of it isn't metal, but you post it anyway.

Well you kind of have to remember the fact that alot of hard rock sounds metallish, and vice versa. I mean everywheres I look Static-X is listed as pop-rock/ hard rock. I have seen it listed as Metal once, thier actual classification is Industrial Metal.

No, sorry, that's not proof in any sense other than Wikipedia's facts being chaged is proof that they weren't true.

Kane Knight

Anyway, they're not really metal, but if you can get beyond the Christian themes, Tribe of Judah is fucking awesome.

The Exit Elvis album contains metal elements, but also prog rock, industrial, trance, etc. I'd put it up, but I installed Creative's new Firmware on my MP3 player, and it fucking BRICKED it.

It's good music if you can get past a couple of the members being from Extreme (And one being from Godsmack), and the Christian elements.

Kane Knight

Oh, and Floater is good. I've pimped them here before. Multiple times.

They're more or less in the "prog metal" genre.

Of course it's not definitive proof, if anyone can edit it (pretty sure it's only a few people , but the point stands). But it's a big enough community dedicated to everything that falls under the metal umbrella. If these guys aren't calling it metal, it's probably not metal.

They are? Didn't know that.

:D

But ToJ is basically half of Extreme, whereas Mourning Widows ended up being comprised of the other half. They even shared a member for a while. The Godsmack Connection is kind of cool. Paul Geary of Extreme is Godsmack's manager (Or at least used to be, don't kno if he still is), and that's how they ended up scoring their drummer.

Then Nuno's Mourning Widows became Population 1, but because there was already a band with the same name (And each had a single sharing a name), they became the Dramagods, and by now, I think only Nuno's involved. But that's okay, because Gary hasn't been doing ToJ lately, he's been doing a crappy RnB/Soul deal.

I don't know if ToJ's coming back, because they never ufixed their site after it was hacked by a bunch of anti-Christian fuckheads who tossed on a bunch of satanic shit.
