This is shocking. Actual metal and hardcore bands are playing at this year's Ozzfest... it's how it use to be. Mind you, I don't really revere Slipknot as a nu-metal band.. they're uh.. more.. metalcore.
Definately buying tickets to Ozzfest this year. \m/

Hardly surprising.
Nu metal is out, hardcore and "real" metal is in.
:wtf: @ Lacuna Coil and Dimmu Borgir though, last bands I expected to see on an Ozzfest. Wonder how much that greedy bitch Sharon Osbourne made them pay to be on the bill...

Ozzfest is expensive. Seeing Slayer on a real tour with good bands isn't.

I may have been seeing things but i turned to cnn and it scrolled something about Ozzy doing a interview saying he wasnt gunna perform again. I went to Ozzfest last year in Indianapolis and to be honest he sounded like cartman from southpark singing . I'm really stoked for this year though. Slayer, Judas Priest, and Black Label Society will be awesome. Any reason to get drunk , high , and party is a good enough reason also. Beats the hell outta work.

I cant find know news on Ozzfest or the possible lineup. Where are you hearing this. I find it hard to believe they would market these bands for there tour. You have a link?

I'm actually not sure if there's been an official announcement yet, but most of these bands have been strongly rumoured for weeks, so odds are it's good as official.
I do remember someone linking me to that list though, but I can't remember where it was. :(

The line-up becomes official tomorrow. Final posting or whatever on ozzfest.com.

Is Ozzy even likely to be able to perform?
(BTW, Slipknot is Nu-Metal...:p)

He's going to try... there's rumours of teams of doctors going on the tour just in case.

Of course Ozzy can do a near year-long tour of the US, without being able to do a couple of shows in his home country.

Don't exaggerate, it's 2 months long.
And he's still under doctor's orders not to perform, something which only "expires" at around the same time Ozzfest starts...

Yeah that is the official line-up, just checked.
Last year it was 50 bucks for gen admin on the lawn and 90 bucks for seats. Which doesn't usually matter because the second stage is always gen admin in a different area.

Sorry I thought otherwise, it used to be longer due to its European dates.
And I'm still kinda sour as I never got to see the shows scheduled for September... rescheduled three times, 2 of which with ailments that never bothered him in the past.

He's old and he's ****ed up his body all his life, you can't expect him to provide all the time. It's a lost hope. His shows are entertaining, but he's better off just sitting it out this year I think.
In related news, the Otep fan base is really pushing to get them on the second stage. I put in my votes and petitions and crap.. I'm STILL itching to see them live. I always will. Also, hopefully they'll stick with the hardcore/metal bands for the rest of the second stage. I'm tired of this nu-metal/alternative crap... Sharon said that this year they aren't going to be a bunch of pussies, they're leaning towards a more aggressive festival. Then they said something about Lacuna Coil being one of the few exceptions.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR JULY.

It would be better if it was Black Sabbath playing. Seeing Priest, Sabbath, and Slayer on the same bill would be enough to convince me to go. Actually, I'll probably go just to see Priest, even though I feel embarassed for them to be involved with OzzFest.
