NWA: Total Nonstop Action for 2/18 opened with a video of recent events in the company, including the speculation as to who the new NWA Director Of Authority will be.

The TNA opening aired. Scott Hudson and Don West handled the announcing, since Mike Tenay was fired by Jeff Jarrett last week.

Jerry Lynn, Sonjay Dutt, Elix Skipper & Chris Sabin vs. Jason Cross, Jimmy Rave, Roderick Strong, & Sharkboy. Jason Cross started out with Skipper, exchanging holds, until Skipper took over with a short arm clothesline for two. Lynn tagged in, but Cross went to work on his arm. Shark Boy tagged in and continued to work on Lynn's arm, and bit his hand. Shark Boy bit Lynn in the rear end. Lynn bit the referee in the rear end to show what had happened to him. Shark hit Lynn with a DDT. Sabin and Rave tagged in, and Sabin hit a rana before Rave hit a backbreaker and a crucifix. Sabin came back with his own backbreaker, then tagged in Dutt. Sabin flipped Dutt onto Rave, who tagged in Strong. Dutt caught Strong with a headscissors, but Strong came back with a double arm into a backbreaker. Strong chopped Dutt, and the two went into a nice exchange, with both men scoring two counts with small packages. Lynn and Cross tagged in and exchanged forearms. It broke down, and the dives began. Everyone started hitting finishers on each other, with Dutt hitting a 450 into a rana off the top at one point. They totally missed a Sabin dive to the floor, and the replay missed most of it as well. Cross went after Lynn's shoulder in the ring, and Lynn couldn't even lift Cross for a piledriver. Cross went to the top rope, but Lynn crotched him, then pulled him off the ropes into a cradle piledriver for the pin at the seven minute mark. Winners: Jerry Lynn, Sonjay Dutt, Elix Skipper & Chris Sabin.

Jeff Jarrett, Kid Kash, David Young, Abyss, Glenn Gilberti and the Red Shirt Security hit the ring, and Jarrett broke his guitar over Lynn's head. Jarrett said Lynn was fired for failing to win the America's X Cup last week. Jarrett said Elix Skipper was the new captain of Team NWA. Jarrett said there would be no new NWA Director Of Authority, and that he was the only power in the company. Jarrett then talked about Chris Harris, who spoke out against Jarrett two weeks ago. Jarrett said Harris would have his chance to knock him off the top of the mountain tonight.

The feud between the 3 Live Kru and the New Franchise was recapped.

Terry Taylor interviewed Shane Douglas, Michael Shane & Traci. Douglas said any signs of a rift amongst the New Franchise was overblown. Douglas told Shane that it was time for him to show all the critics what he was made of, by going to the ring alone. Shane said that tonight, Killings would have his "ass Franchised". Chris Harris interrupted, taking up Jarrett on his challenge for tonight.

Michael Shane, with Traci, vs. Ron "The Truth" Killings. BG James came out with Killings and joined the announcers. Shane took an advantage early, but Killings came back with a top rope dropkick and a hiptoss slam. Killings hit a side leg lariat for two. Killings hit a powerslam, but Shane came back and went to work on Killings' leg. Traci was at ringside, and yanked at Killings' leg, but James ran her off. Shane kept up the assault on Killings' leg, and applied a figure four. Killings reversed the hold, and Shane made the ropes. Killings decked Shane and hit a backdrop, then a flying forearm. Killings hit an ax kick, and we saw that Shane Douglas was attacking Konnan at the Spanish announce table. James ran off to help Konnan, and Shane rolled up a distracted Killings for two. Shane went for a DDT, but Killings reversed it into a vertical suplex into a stunner. Traci dove off the top at Killings, but Killings caught her and powerbombed her. Shane hit a drop toe hold, and Killings fell face first into the cast of Traci. Shane then hit a superkick for the pin at the seven minute mark. Winner: Michael Shane.

Backstage, Kid Kash told the Red Shirts that they needed to take care of El Leon and Dustin Rhodes tonight. The Red Shirts didn't like Kash bossing them around. Glenn Gilberti and David Young argued about wrestling the ICP, since Young didn't want to do it. Kid Kash agreed to team with Gilberti. There was more discussion over whether Simon Diamond or Johnny Swinger had signed with Jarrett.

El Leon tagged in, and booted Legend hard before hitting him with a clothesline. Dustin came in and hit a reverse atomic drop, then slugged Legend to the mat. Dustin cleaned house on both men and tossed them to the floor, where El Leon hit a double noggin knocker. The Red Shirts got the advantage back when Legend hit Rhodes with a superkick. Legend hit a vertical suplex on Rhodes for a two count. Northcutt slammed Rhodes, then hit a second rope elbow for two. Legend came in, and Rhodes fought his way to the corner for a tag, but the referee didn't see it. Northcutt hit Rhodes with a back elbow for two and applied a rear chinlock. Rhodes caught Northcutt in a backslide, but Legend was distracting the referee. Northcutt hit a spinebuster, and Legend followed with a second rope legdrop. Rhodes battled back again, but the Red Shirts kept him in their corner. Rhodes hit Legend with a vertical suplex, but Northcutt tagged in. Rhodes hit a sloppy spinebuster, and made the hot tag to El Leon. Leon cleaned house, superkicking Northcutt for a two count. The match degenerated into a brawl, and Rhodes tossed Northcutt from the ring. Leon hit Legend with a spear. Northcutt got on the apron and grabbed Leon, but Legend missed him and hit Northcutt. Rhodes then held Northcutt on the floor while Leon hit Legend with a uranage for the win in nine minutes. Winners: El Leon & Dustin Rhodes.

Post-match, the Naturals ran in and attacked Rhodes, but El Leon ran them off with a chair.

Terry Taylor interviewed Father James Mitchell and The Gathering about Raven's return. Mitchell said that they have been destroying everyone else while Raven has been gone. The Gathering has promised to take care of Raven and Terry Funk tonight.

Backstage, The Red Shirts were arguing with Kid Kash. Jarrett walked in and broke his guitar over Legend's head. Jarrett said there would be no dissention in his group, and told Northcutt that he had a decision to make soon. Jarrett and Kash walked off, as Northcutt looked at his fallen partner.

A video package on Jonny Fairplay was shown, leading into the debut of "Playin' Fair With Jonny", his new interview segment. Lollipop gave the ring announcer a long introduction to read for Fairplay's entrance. Fairplay talked about Joanie Laurer, saying she had ridiculous demands, and that was why she isn't here tonight. Fairplay said Laurer wanted first-class plane tickets, creatine, and a framed picture of Triple H. Fairplay joked that Triple H's nose was too big for a picture. Jonny Fairplay plugged his weekly column in Star magazine. Fairplay kept on making lame jokes about Laurer, then said he was suing Brian Urlacher, Simon Diamond and AJ Styles for hurting him. Styles came out, and said he would break his neck, but he had "bigger fish to fry". Styles told Fairplay that while Abyss is a monster, Fairplay is an "overgrown Chia Pet". Fairplay said he was a superstar, and if he wasn't injured, he would kick Styles' ass. Styles said "Boo!" and Fairplay ran off scared. Fairplay stopped in the aisle and started to strut, and Styles knocked him down. Styles was dragging him back to the ring, and Abyss attack Styles, starting their match.

AJ Styles vs. Abyss. Abyss used the trees and chair that was a part of Fairplay's interview set as weapons. Abyss rammed Styles into the steps, but Styles fought back with kicks and forearms. Abyss tossed Styles into the guardrails. Abyss tossed Styles back into the ring, and Styles started to avoid Abyss, ducking under him and jumping over him, but hitting a spin kick, dropkick and rana. Styles clotheslined Abyss to the floor, and hit a springboard bodyblock to the floor. Styles went for a springboard DDT, but Abyss caught him and tossed him to the mat sloppily. Abyss rammed Styles into the corner, and choked him while standing on the second rope. Abyss went for a table and set it up at ringside. Winner by disqualification: AJ Styles.

Post-match, Jarrett hit the Stroke on Styles. Abyss went to slam Styles through the table, but he dropped him above the table leg, and the table was too strong at that point to be broken. Abyss went to splash Styles through the table, but the table was tipping over. Chris Harris came to the ring to run off Jarrett and Abyss.

Terry Taylor interviewed Simon Diamond & Johnny Swinger about whether or not either of them had signed with Jeff Jarrett. Both men said they did not sign with him, and Diamond said he was going to find Kid Kash, get the clipboard, and see who signed it.

A video package on the Insane Clown Possee-David Young & Glenn Gilberti feud was shown.

Kid Kash & Glenn Gilberti vs. Insane Clown Posse. The ICP entered through the crowd, and when they got to ringside, Kash went for a pescado, but the ICP caught him, starting the match. This was a "Juggalo Street Fight", which means there are no rules. Violent J paired off with Gilberti in the ring, while Kash downed Shaggy with a chair at ringside. Violent J hit Gilberti with a Death Valley Driver, but Kash came back in, giving them the advantage. They kept Shaggy on the floor, and double teamed J in the ring. Shaggy finally got back in and gave Gilberti and Kash a dropkick from the top rope. The ICP hit a Hart Attack on Gilberti for two. The ICP hit Kash with a double flapjack, then a double brainbuster. J hit Kash with a moonsault. Gilberti took J to the floor, while Shaggy missed Kash with a top rope moonsault. Funk was busted open, as Raven took on both men by himself. Punk and Dinero double superkicked Raven out of the ring. Dinero pounded Raven on the floor, while Punk started working over a bloody Funk in the ring. There was a brief "Terry" chant as Punk took Funk on the floor and rammed him into the guardrails. Punk started slapping Funk in the ring, and Funk collapsed to the mat. Funk started fighting back, hitting punches to the midsection, then hitting a stunner. Dinero came in, and Funk decked him with the chicken punches. Funk went for the spinning toehold on Dinero, but Punk shoved Funk into a Dinero small package for two. It actually settled into a tag match after five minutes, with Raven and Dinero on the apron. Dinero tagged in and hit a fisherman's suplex on Funk. Dinero came off the middle rope for a senton, but Funk got his knees up. Funk made the tag to Raven as Punk was also tagged in. Raven cleaned house with clotheslines and kneelifts. Raven brought back the snot rag, and used it on Punk, then bulldogged him while clotheslining Dinero. Raven clotheslined Punk from the ring, and Funk hit Dinero with a stunner. Funk applied the Oklahoma Roll on Dinero, but Punk broke up the cover. Raven superkicked Punk from the ring and DDT'd Dinero for the pin at the eight minute mark. Winners: Raven & Terry Funk.

Post-match, the Gathering beat down on Raven and Funk. Father James Mitchell came out with a taser, and went to stun Raven with it, but Funk threw himself in the line of fire and took the stunning. Raven grabbed the taser and ran off the Gathering, as Funk shook on the mat in pain from the stunning.

Terry Taylor interviewed Scott D'Amore, who announced that Team Canada, led by Teddy Hart, will challenge Team Mexico for America's X Cup on March 10th. D'Amore said Team NWA "dropped the ball" and made fun of the U.S.

Raven did an interview in the back, talking about how he once again was becoming the Raven of old, who doesn't care about anyone or anything. Raven thanked Jim Mitchell for reminding him of what "brought him to the dance". Raven said after he takes care of Mitchell, Punk and Dinero, he will go after Jeff Jarrett and the World Title. Raven revealed that next week he will be bringing in Sabu to even the odds, so he doesn't have to face them three on one.

TNA is crap right now. Jarrett won't do the job to anyone, Styles is being buried, and veterans like Sting, Randy Savage, Lex Luger, Terry Funk, and Dusty Rhodes are getting too much camera time.

So it's becoming WWE in other words.

Dusty Rhodes getting ANY TV time is a bad thing. That guy is
about as entertaining as a "midget whacking off in a trash can"
(TNA - Rhodes referencial joke).

Terry Funk getting time is very beneficial to the promotion and
to anyone who gets to work with him. Just being in the same
ring with him (let alone on PPV) gives them quite a bit of credi-
bility. Plus he does his part to get the younger/rookie guys over
(something he doesn't have to do at all).

Russo coming back to TNA,while slightly predictable, could also
be fun. I think that IF TNA could land Hogan at some point, they
should pull an old switcheroo on his ass,and have Russo make an
appearance that night. It would be rather entertaining :)

Anyhow, good to see guys like Jimmy Rave, Shark Boy, Jason Cross,
Chris Harris, and Julio Dinero getting back onto the PPV -- All great
talents there.

David Young should be utilized so much better,as he's really ALOT
better than opening match or low-card status. Hopefully NWA's
people will realize this in the long-run.

*3LK is quite comical
*Dustin Runnels is so/so-ish
*El Leon is a waste of time
*Shane Douglas? :nono:

Do you watch? Sting has only been on the show 3 or 4 times.

Jeff Jarrett is similar to Triple H. I guess he'd be like Shane McMahon would be if Shane was a full time wrestler. The boss's favourite. But on the plus side, the next face to topple Jarrett will get a huge face reaction from the crowd. A good heel champ is what the company needs right now. Give Jarrett wins against Sting, Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, Hulk Hogan, etc. Then when someone like AJ Styles takes the title from him, you have a legendary babyface born. I think Raven needs to be with Father James Mitchell as well. A godd heel stable would make some good stars too.
