View Full Version : Wait, is Jarret not currently active in TNA?

I heard something of that sort in the main Wrestling forum, and I'm too lazy to actually look up recent TNA history.

I was wondering how Christian was champ for so long, because as far as I know, over the past four years or whatever, whenever someone won the belt, Jarret was champ again like two months later.

Anyway, could someone gimme a quick recap of what's happened in the main event scene in TNA, specifically with what's happened to Jarrett (and whether he is/was a face or a heel)?

Thanks! :)

Here's the whole title history of TNA end to end:

Jeff Jarrett 02/11/20 Nashville, TN

Defeats Sting 03/05/25 in Auckland, NEW ZEALAND to unify World Wrestling All-Stars World Heavyweight Title.

A. J. Styles 03/06/11 Nashville, TN
Jeff Jarrett [2] 03/10/22 Nashville, TN
A. J. Styles [2] 04/04/21 Nashville, TN
Ron Killings [2] 04/05/19 Nashville, TN

Defeats Styles, Chris Harris, and Raven in a 4-way match.

Jeff Jarrett [3] 04/06/02 Nashville, TN
A. J. Styles [3] 05/05/15 Orlando, FL

Wins by DQ.

JJ is currently backstage running stuff, over the course of TNA being active (5 years) he has held the title 6 times

Sting beat Jarrett in a title vs career match in October, and he is now on "hiatus".

Dunno the non-kayfabe reason he hasn't been around, whether he's injured or just taking a break or what.

Reps and thanks to both of you.

And  Rhino is TNA's Kane. Two day champ.

JJ must be injured. For Jeff Jarrett does not take breaks...he only buries.

I'm pretty sure he's not injured, I think he's just taking time away, I hope they try him out as a face next to be honest

Kayfabe reason would probably be that Sting succeeded in his quest to terminate the cancer from TNA which was Jeff Jarrett upon winning the match.

Wait...TNA has no Jarrett, Christian on top...

...Have any of the younger stars learned Psychology? Because if so, I am SO watching.

I believe Sabin is taking night classes in psychology to get his degree

They hardly even wrestle anymore. Every match is seriously like 2 mins long.

Yeah, that is a bit of a problem.

You can't blame Russo for flipping out at them, they give him an impossible task to squeeze like 30 guys into a 1 hour program. He should just start booking nothing but battle royals every week, like they used to in TN.

I still think the answer to that is an oldschool pile-in at the end of every show, like they seemed to do EVERY time on WWF programming for a while.

I heard Jarrett is taking a break, he's been carrying the responsibilities of being NWA champion for about four years virtually non-stop, plus all the stress of running an upstart company, dealing with all the behind the scenes issues, plus his wife had cancer (I think) twice during all of this, so now he's taking a step back.

He may be a bland wrestler, who's pushing himself in a spot he doesn't belong in, but you have to give him credit for work ethic in building up TNA. He must have worked his ass off, with his wife ill too... he deserves the rest.

He'll be back though, and right back in the title scene, even though the fans don't want him there. The Triple H of TNA.

The major difference being that Triple H, while an albtross, isn't totally wasted on the top.

I also don't think people are complaining that he's gone.
