Impeccable

This is just a rant.

Having just watched the end of Smackdown, Vince and Umaga decimate Rey Mysterio in the ring. This has the effect of "Uber Heel Heat". Why?

1) Rey is currently injured.

2) It is Rey's home town.

3) Rey is 2'3". Vince and Umaga are both quite large.

What pisses me off so much is that if Vince spent only half the time pushing other heels in this fashion as he does himself, I think there'd definately be a product I cared about. Why couldn't someone else get this rub...somebody who needs it right now.

Kennedy has consistently jobbed since the beginning of this year...why not him?

Fucks sake

Rant over!

Maybe he wants to keep adding on to Umaga's heat so when Lashley defeats him fans will be more excited or something.

I hope Vince sticks to his tieless image. Seriously, that image of Vince allows me to put up with his crap.

But yeah, the point was to put Umaga over as a heartless wrecking machine, so when Bobby Lashley beats him, he looks more important. It isn't hard to put that much care and effort into every aspect of the product, though.

The whole problem with that segment was that vince spent half the time either saying something he already said on Raw, or saying the same old jokes that everybody makes about Rey's height. That was a shite way to end Smackdown i must say.

I can understand why you'd say that, and Vince did talk for quite the long time, but seeing Vince without a tie standing in the ring with Rey, it just seemed like an Attitude era moment to me. Umaga beating on the injured Rey was pretty cool, too. Definately should have been early on in the show, though. They could have made Kane vs. King Booker in the Falls Count Anywhere Match the main event.

I wish Vince would go back to the red bow-tie image.

I've said it before countless times and I'll say it again: If all the stuff Umaga's done had been given to someone else who was worth a damn, they'd have a much more interesting heel.

I agree. Eddie Fatu himself is actually pretty talented, but the Umaga character should die off.

The only way to really save it is to have Eddie cut a promo where he states that he isn't a savage, but he is just proud of his Samoan roots. That way the work they went through pushing something as absurd as "Umaga" won't be lost.

Eddie Guerrero should definetly cut a promo on Umaga. I bet it'll happen at Summerslam.

I think there should be an Umaga vs The Rock fued based around their Samoan heritage with Rock coming in and asking what the hell he is doing and forcing Umaga to speak english and Rock will be saying that Samoans aren't wild savages but they are proud and powerful warriors and will wipe that tattoo off his face if he doesn't get it together.

...Rock will be saying that Samoans aren't wild savages...

I don't know what you think Samoans are, but I was chased down a city street and nearly torn apart the other day by a bunch of guys who looked just like Umaga.

Well, anyone who's ever been a longtime fan of TPiR knows Bob ALWAYS used to get manhandled by Samoan contestants on stage. So yeah, they do get a bad rap for mangling people or whatever, but I'll bet that most Samoan folks are actually quite pleasant.:o
