I'm running the newest version of Firefox and all of a sudden when I would come to a site like TPWW or Yahoo mail and had to enter my username, I would type in the first letter of my username and a little bar would pop up under it with the completed name, much like the entry history works for search engines and such. How do I turn this off?

Tools -> Options -> Privacy

There's an option to click in there. "Remember what I enter..." or something like that.

No, it's not the same thing. There's probably an option for it in about:config but I couldn't find it when I looked. Does it for me as well.

Hmm. I had my girlfriend enter in her username to a site and then went back to see if it remembered it (didn't use the 'remember password' feature) and it didn't come back up the next time she tried it. Apparently it's only my username that's being remembered on a couple sites. I looked under the options and that option wasn't checked. I dunno what's going on.

To get rid of it, go to Tools > Options > Security > and uncheck "Remember passwords for sites"

This is a bug fix and this is how it was originally intended to be used. The reason is that if you have multiple saved passwords for a site it will let you select the user and autofill the password. Hopefully they will do something with it where if there isn't multiple passwords it will just do the only saved one. Oh well.
