View Full Version : Have Cena turn on HBK

Even though it's predictable, or at least would be predictable from a decent booking team, it's the perfect opportunity to for a long overdue 2003-era Cena heel run. HBK may be the only person on Raw right now who can get the 11 year olds to boo even a super heelish Cena, and that's the demographic that the WWE seems to base their Cena decisions on. Writing that makes me feel creepy being a wrestling fan, but at least this way Cena can be entertaining again.
As a short term business move it would cut down on Cena merchandise sales so I know it won't happen. If done correctly, it may create higher ratings due to better television, but the profits from that would take at least a few months to show, and the WWE doesn't think that far ahead these days.

It would be pretty cool, if Cena turned heel saying that he wasn't gonna wait for Michaels to turn on him, he'd turn on Michaels instead.

It would be. Thusly, it will never happen.

I'm still praying for a Cena heel turn during the main event. Then have him come out in a suit as Vince's new "Corporate Champion". A feud between him and HBK would be amazing. No doubt Shawn would eventually win the WWE Championship and then feud with Triple H when he returns, but Cena could use some time away from the main event, anyway.

But yes I agree that Cena should turn on HBK, it makes sense and Cena has been face for too long now.

If only a Shawn Michaels heel turn could work against Cena.

I would rather see HHH pedigree both of them and cause a main event dq at
Mania.

I just want somebody to play the heel in one of the main events.
After the promo last night, it would be interesting if they had Edge, Orton and Cena working together. Making it seem like they're trying to convince Cena that Shawn is going to turn on him and instead having Cena screw Shawn out of the tag titles.

Yeah, but you'd think that most Cena marks have bought all the merchandise there is already since he's been face for so long. Why not turn Cena heel and lead to a whole new slogan, attitude and products that may rekindle interest from fans that were into his heel persona to begin with. Seems there's possibly more profit potential by changing him now IMO. The movie has been out long enough so that WWE won't lose any viewers or buyers for the DVD.
Besides, his pop's seem to be huge again, so a heel turn right now would be most effective as far as psychology goes....not that I'm a psychologist, but you know what I mean?

^^ You'd think so, but Vince doesn't care about the fans (unless their interests happen to match his), and the writing crew has less creativing than C-Fedding. So I don't think we're gonna see shit.
Hell, even though I'm really hoping for a shocking heel turn at Wrestlemania (which is where it should happen, especially if it's Cena turning), I'm setting myself up to expect the super unoriginal, cliche "Cena wins and then lifts HBK's arm as a sign of respect to close the show... only to not clothesline him or do anything exciting.
