question about a patch

k, so I had the blaster virus on my computer somehow, now I have a program to delete it but afterwards it says I need to install a patch to fix it but when I try to load the patch the programs shuts itself off. Any ideas what to do?

Did you get the program to get rid of it from Microsoft?

I had it, went to Microsoft, downloaded something and it sorted it no problem.

If it returns (the virus) go to Microsoft, if it doesn't just assume the thing you've downloaded's done the trick
