The topic pretty much sums it up.
Well, on my myspace I have a lot of bands who I'd like to see get big. No, I don't have any well known artists on it. I just want to help get their names out.
But I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done that. Aside from that I've started to write a bands website on single dollar bills. People will see the URL, and wonder what it is. They'll check out the band because someone wrote it on a dollar... at least that's what I'm hoping for.
So how do you whore out bands you like?

I don't. If more than 10 people have heard about it, I don't like it.

Word of mouth, mostly. I remember during the height of soulseek on TPWW, I used to recommend certain shit to people on my buddy list. Then they'd go ahead and d/l the whole folder from me.

My friends and I often show each other new bands we've found out, but that's about all I do.

I don't whore out bands, not even my friends'. My philosophy is listen to stuff nobody else does that way no one borrows your sh*t.

I don't whore out bands either unless someone asks me for suggestions.

I work at Best Buy, so I just whore bands out when people ask about music that they should listen to.

Play thier songs constantly, and never shut up about them.

And while I'm not hyping bands, I won't talk about the Stone Coyotes, because they don't have a new record recorded and preparing for release.
Also, the Drunk Stuntmen aren't touring areas other than MA (Though I think few people here would like the country rock thing). They especially won't stop at Raleigh.
Also, I don't have a podcast that I'm planning on putting up once my move is completed. I won't be whoring things out via podcast.
Or radio, as I won't be attempting to get a show on the community access radio in town.
And don't listen to the last Dave Carter/Tracy Grammer record.

Tend not to bother, my recommendations have a habit of falling flat on their arse with most people.
