Bring Funaki over from SmackDown! to RAW. Give him new attire, the same general style, just replace the SmackDown! logo with "Funak1", with a small "#" above the "k" referring to the "1".
Bring him over to RAW, and have him unsure if he can survive on RAW. Have him face Johnny Nitro, or someone, and barely miss out on the win. Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro have reformed MNM, as they are going to be facing Paul London & Brian Kendrick at WrestleMania. MNM give Funaki the Snapshot and beat him down a little. Just to be assholes, they challenge him to a tag team match the following week, if he can find a partner that will be willing to team with such a loser.
The next week, MNM come out, and look all cocky. Funaki then makes his entrance jumping around like he usually does, but then The Great Khali steps out of the curtain! Funaki jumps around Khali as he wades his way towards the ring. MNM look shit-scared. Khali "Death Chops" Nitro and Mercury a few times, then Two-Handed Chokeslams Johnny Nitro, and then Rocket Launchers Funaki onto Nitro for the pin.
Come on, Funaki and Khali as a tag team equals ratings. Have Funaki print off a shirt which says "The Great Khal1 and The Great Funak1, #1 Great Buddies". Have them beat Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch the following week, and then The Highlanders. Then stick 'em in a mini-feud with Rated-RKO.
The Great Khali and The Great Funaki as "The Greats", using Funaki's entrance music, with him constantly dancing around Khali like an excited puppy? Fuck, put the World Tag Team Championship on them now.

Yang puts a cowboy hat on Khali and proclaim him "Deputy Khali".

I said Super Crazy a while back, too, but the more I think about it, the less likely it seems they'd actually mesh. Super Crazy is fine with his current push, let Funaki come in, resurrect "Indeeeeed!" (as suggested by 311), and use it so that Funaki at least has one (more?) bright spot on his WWE career before he retires.
Although, the idea of Deputy Khali is very, very intriguing.

Khali could get actual heat, not just hatred. By having him be the gentle loveable giant in a fan favorite tag team you give him instant face heat.
Then, you have him turn on and destroy the small guy because he's sick of carrying the weight. Instant heel. Put a mouthpeice with him who manipulates him, and that helps.
Then have him wake up and turn on that mouthpeice and that mouthpeice finds a new giant to fued against him.
It's at least 6 months of logical booking in the midcard. Wouldn't be great, but it'd make sense.

Exactly. Khali is apparently a great guy in real life, so I can see the character actually connecting with the person, and bringing out an extra zest in his performance.
Instead of having Khali simply turn heel, I'd have his babyface partner accept a deal from a manager. Let's just say Funaki and Paul Heyman are the babyface partner and manager, respectively.
Khali says he doesn't like Heyman, but Funaki tells him it will help their careers. They come out a few weeks with Paul Heyman in tow, and they don't turn heel per se, but JR questions why they are with a slimeball like Heyman. Eventually, Khali just gives Funaki a Death Chop one day, and decimates him with a Two-Handed Chokeslam. Paul Heyman then reveals that it is time for him and Khali to start making waves in singles competition.
Khali isn't necessarily a bad guy to the core in this scenario, he's just been poisoned by the manipulative manager, who the babyface partner brought in. The face partner regrets it, has a mini-feud with the manager, and loses to Khali decisively, but then gets something going with another client of Heyman, and manages to hold his own.
Eventually, Khali realises what he is going is wrong, so he Death Chops the forces of Heyman, and gets (presumingly) a HUGE face pop.
I've always been a believer that big men in wrestling, like the REALLY big men, are served better on shows like Heat, and working with smaller guys. It gets the smaller guys more over, and the bigger guy has ragdolls to bump for him.
I really don't think someone gets over on their size alone (like the WWE is trying to do with Khali). We need to care about the big man, and while working with a guy like Funaki may seem like a step down for him, it is ultimately going to be better for his career, and it will also help the cruiserweight. Big men like Khali should be used as puntuaction, not sentences, and when the fans eventually feel like they know the guy, that is when there is money to be made in having him open all cylinders on the main event scene.

Khali is oddly becoming popular, Funaki is over, but a jobber. This would be an awesome thing for Khali.
Super Crazy is a great choice too, but I'd rather he stay a singles guy... provided his small push continues. If he's bound for mid card hell or Heat, then I'm all for him being used regularly with Khali.
I think it would actually provide some entertainment outside of normal wrestling storylines. That's the biggest thing that's missing right now, humor. Attitude was full of it. The shows just seem empty and up their own ass these days.

To be honoust I'd rather see Khali team with Scotty 2 Hotty. Having him try to dance around with scotty (kinda like Rikishi) could be pretty damn entertaining.

Haha, that could work. It'd be another move for Scotty, but would be worth it. Hearing Khali yell "Turn it up!" would be classic.

This isn't so much an idea for a tag team as much as a throwaway segment, but Val Venis trying to get Khali to star in one of his porn films would be hilarious. "King Khali", starring Naomi Twats. Maybe have them work as a team for a few weeks, and just milk it for as long as it runs.

In my mind I can see a Cruiser match happening on Smackdown, S2H is getting beaten down by the heels when all of a sudden Khali's music hits. Davari starts waving him down to the ring yelling in persian or whatever it is. Khali gets in the ring, picks Scotty up, looks like he's about to chop him, then looks at Davari and yells "TURN IT UP" and starts chopping the heels.
Then que turn it up and S2H and Khali start dancing.

I've ALWAYS wanted to see an angle like that. :love:
I never really pictured it being Khali, though. It could work. I envisioned a Stevie Richards-type loveable loser, who maybe gets into a feud with Johnny Nitro and Melina, with Victoria back by his side as the loyal friend.
Melina begins to flirt with Richards, and he can't handle it. Victoria, constantly tells Stevie that Melina is just trying to throw Stevie off his game, and that he needs to block her out. Richards reminds Victoria that he hasn't won a match in like eight years, Melina doesn't need to try to throw him off his game. Basically have Richards dancing around a dangerous fire in Melina, and Victoria trying to protect him.
It would all come down to a moment where Melina is defending the Women's Championship against Victoria. The referee is knocked down, and Johnny Nitro gets involved. Stevie clears the ring of Nitro, but then Melina begins to touch Stevie and try to get him to help her. He then responds in kind with a Stevie Kick! Victoria gets the cover and is the new Women's Champion!
That would fucking rule.

I can imagine Scotty doing a Worm, but instead of hitting the chop, Khali just gentley pushes Scotty to the side, and then drills he opponent with the PUNJABI CHOP OF DEATH(!), allowing Scotty to get the three.

They should book Khali similarly to how they booked Kane in 1998/1999. Have him develop into a sad character. A gentle giant with a heart of gold, but who snaps into violent mean streaks. Mostly because he is manipulated.
Since he's so big and stu...docile, he's easy to use as a tool. But when he wises up, there's hell to pay. And when contolled, is a destructive force. But he is neither truly face or heel, just an extension of who's controlling him.
Of course with Kane he wasn't able to talk because of his gimmick, with Khali he practically can't talk actually. Nonetheless it leaves you with the same options, and you should book accordingly. Khali doesn't have as much room for growth, but he can be used similarly.

its more of looking for the best in the situation rather than lobbying for a Khali push.
I think everyone's in agreement he's terrible, but why not give his character some depth and use him in something remotely entertaining in the midcard rather than forcing him down our throats in his current capacity.
He's here for a while, so he might as well find his niche in the midcard and get the best out of the situation.

Hell right now I'd settle for Khali doing an Impressionist gimmick. Imagine him coming down to the ring pretending to be Mr. Kennedy, or better yet "springing" out of the ground ala Rey Mysterio. Could be entertaining as long as it was in a Midcard role.

I guess Khali would be comical as a face kind of like Kurrgan of the Oddities just as long as he's not wrestling much and is an undercarder like the Oddities. If you're gonna pair him up with someone like that, go with Funaki because you'd want a jobber to be involved with that not someone like Super Crazy.
