This is the first time in a while that the main event of a WM has been face vs face right? I see this is a good thing. You usually ALWAYS know that the face is gonna beat the heel at Wrestlemania, and although you can kinda tell the Bats/Taker match is gonna go to Taker, I think the Cena/Michaels thing is a bit unpredictable. I love the face vs face main events this year. I will in fact watch Wrestlemania this year I have decided.

Yea I'm pumped for mania this year, I can't lie.

This could be interesting with Cena/HBK. Last time there was a face v face main event at WM, we had Austin turn heel at WM X-7. Could this be when Cena finally turns?
LOL, no. Michaels will be turning.

I'm willing to bet my house that John Cena goes over. Whether he turns heel, or he and Shawn Michaels hug after the match is the only mystery. Should be an OK main event. My tendency to not give a fuck about Cena will prevent me from really getting into it.
Unless Cena turns heel. I will care about him if he becomes what we know he can become.

I think a Cena heel turn could half work. Detroit lately has been pretty anti-Cena. And I will be at the show cheering for Shawn and booing Cena as well. But I think it will be interesting to see how the reactions are.

Here's the interesting thing. I'm calling it right now as I did in the RAW thread. Should WWE book MNM vs Cena/HBK for monday night, Cena and HBK will somehow lose and after the match Cena will grab HBK and give him the FU.
Swear to god, this happens, I will cream my pants

They'll have HBK superkick Cena before Wrestlemania and it will be very predictable.
At Wrestlemania HBK will tap to the STFU and the crowd will react just like last year's WM ending with DEAD SILENCE.
Only difference is they're ending with Taker/Batista.
At least I HOPE they are.

If I believed in god, I would pray that Michaels wins.
It would seem like ever since WWE made two World Titles, they have booked one so over the top obvious, and the other one a mystery as to who will win...
23 - Taker is locked, HBK/Cena is up in the air
22 - Rey was locked, Cena/Hunter was up in the air
21 - Ok, so both Batista and Cena were locked
XX - Benoit was locked, Eddie/Angle was up in the air
XIX - Lesnar was locked, Booker/Hunter was up in the air
Maybe, just maybe, WWE should stop booking the Rumble winner to win the title EVERY FREAKIN YEAR...it's been 7 years since we had a Rumble winner NOT talk out of Mania with the title...
Random thought follows...
Next year I'd like them to actually strip one of the titles and do a company-wide tournament for it. The Rumble winner gets a bye into Mania, but leading upto it, there is a 30 man tournament. Have the semi-finals and the finals at Mania, the main event would be a three way for the WWE Championship.
Just to mix things up would be nice. If they ever do end the brand split this is a must.

I just realised, WWE is using the ECW World Champion (who is bald mind you) to fight Umaga in a hair vs. hair match in which no one in danger of getting the cut is even involved...
If that doesn't scream volumes as to how WWE views ECW as a brand, I just don't know what does...

Couldn't they have at least not used a BALD man to wrestle so that he can save someone else hair?

I see your point, but I think Booker T, in any logical plain, would have been locked to win the World Heavyweight Championship. When Triple H won, everyone was just like "What the fuck?"
Eddie/Angle was also pretty much an expected Eddie win. He had only held the belt for a month, as opposed to Angle, a challenging heel who had been Champion like four times previously, and didn't need another run.
I agree with you about Batista/Cena.
John Cena retaining last year was pretty damn obvious, as is Cena retaining this year. Rey Mysterio was actually less of a lock than John Cena.
This year: John Cena and The Undertaker are both locks to win.

I like the idea, I'd rather see them just end with a one-on-one match to end it all, though. Royal Rumble Winner vs. Tournament Winner for the vacant WWE Championship. :y:
That works too, but IF the brands were still in place it would have made sense to book it so an ECW, RAW and SmackDown! wrestler were in the main event.

Tovo's Quick Thoughts...
I never thought Booker would win...
I wanted Angle to win, so I'm biased in hope...
D'uh...
Rey's win could be seen from a mile away...
Let's hope you're wrong about Cena...

I didn't really care about RAW at the time, so I can't comment. Booker T losing seemed to outrage people, though.
I shared your bias, only with JBL winning at WrestleMania 21. Alas...:(
Rey Mysterio winning was where I would have placed my money, but I was hoping for an Angle win, and there were rumours that Orton might have taken it. Can't argue about Rey winning not being a shocker, though.
And yes, I concur about Cena winning this year. Don't get you're hopes up too much, though. KingofOldSchool has the right idea on what will likely happen. :(

Not to mention a bald special referee. Austin is bald, and awesome cool. I think a guy like Mick Foley, or someone whose hair is plentifull, would be a better choice. Isn't the point that either one of them going bald is going to be extremely embarassing? It's going to be a little hard when two of the three guys in the ring for that match are bald faces.

What about TripleH vs John cena last year??
The crowd was behind TripleH. Who was the heel then?

Nah, if you want ANYONE on your side in a hair vs hair battle, it's a bald man. They've been through it, they know the pain of not having hair.... only a bald man will ever understand the true implications of losing a match of this magnitude.
Trump is a frickin' genius.

I'd rather see the WWE title (the Cena championship with the longest tradition) get stripped away from him. Give Cena the new 'Raw Heavyweight Championship' and convert Batista's title into the 'SmackDown Heavyweight Championship', then take the belt which is currently known as the WWE Championship and make that a premier, brand-crossing title.
So you have a Raw Heavyweight champ, a SmackDown heavyweight champ and an ECW heavyweight champ... and then the entire company has a WWE World Heavyweight Champion, defending the title across all brands, much like the original Undisputed Championship.
I think it's pretty confusing for new viewers that there are two "top" champions, plus the belts aren't really differentiated because I always consider the "WWE championship" as a "world" title anyway, and until the split, would think nothing of calling Bret Hart or Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin "the World champion". Having a "WWE Champion" and a "World champion" is kinda ridiculous.
And seeing as they have yet to top the Royal Rumble 1992, I'd like to see the new top champion, the "WWE World Heavyweight Champion" crowned as the winner of the Rumble.
Just an idea.

I had considered Booker winning for a bit. I wanted to see it too. But then he went over HHH clean on the Raw before WM so it was like nope. Not gonna happen.
