WWE officials have been in contact with Chris Jericho in hopes of a return around September. Nothing has been confirmed at this point but if a deal is reached he will most likely appear on the RAW brand.
It should also be noted that Dixie Carter is interested in signing him to TNA Wrestling.

If the WWE can pull this off somehow they need to keep a lid on it. A surprise Jericho return might just make me cream my pants.

If Cena is a heel, I'd have him come back have him be the guy to take the belt off of him. Seriously, what better reason to have a feud then "You fucking cost me my job 2 years ago!"

That would be funny. Have Jericho come out and announce he is bringing back his personal security from WCW! He shows a clip of Ralphus. Jericho then hypes it up to a ridiculous degree. Then have Coach book a match for next week, Cena vs. Ralphus! Jericho comes out and announces the return of RALPHUS!
Then, this guy comes out to "Bad Boy Boogie" by ACDC:

TNA would save money if they quit giving EVERYBODY pyro. WTF does Sonjay Dutt need pyro. He hasn't even EARNED the right to THINK about having pyro.

Its not that big of a deal to me. I am one of the (if not biggest) Jericho marks on here and even if I knew Jericho was coming back at exactly what fucking time on RAW. I'd still mark-out. I knew Austin was coming out on RAW, but me knowing it was coming and wanting it to happen so bad made it better. Its like Nervous Ferret wanting to get laid, only we actually get a payoff.

I don't know if his return would completely redeem wrestling but it would certainly be a dramatic improvement.
I don't want to see him in TNA, honestly. I really do want TNA to succeed, but the way they are handling business now they aren't going to. However, if he DOES wind up in TNA, he is an instant big ratings boost. Not to rival Raw but he makes them much more competitive single handedly.
Still, don't want to see him in TNA.

Yeah, a ratings boost that will last MAYBE one episode.
If Kurt Angle can't spike the ratings permanently, no one can. And Angle's more main stream (wrestling-wise) than Jericho.

They need another huge countdown thingie like they had when he made his debut, and have the people who do the play by play say "Now where have I seen this before?"

September....beautiful. Thats around the perfect time. Right after Summerslam. When he comes back, he will have huge face heat due to his absence and they should harness that. They should put him in a hot program off the bat, and then after that it would probably be around December. Perfect time to build the motherfucker to win the Rumble and the title at WrestleFuckinMania 24.
I don't want to get my hopes up, but since Jericho's been gone I've always maintained that if he opted to come back it could have been the best career move ever.
With Jericho back he could finally get that push that he never got.

They should do vignettes like last time, but not a countdown. Not so obvious. It'd be nice for them to vignettes of night traffic above cities and shit along those lines, and have it read how many days until his comeback.
I'd debut him at a PPV. If smarks knew Jericho was returning at Unforgiven I'm sure it'd boost buys.

In TNA he would make a huge splash. Id like to see him and angle one more time.In wwe he'd just get the pleasure of a brief push ,a program where he would ultimately job to Cena then end up tagging with carlito.its WWE afterall

nah dude, you can't tell what they'd do. Granted Jericho didn't get his due, he still had a great career. Theres no reason to believe his return wouldn't come as a second chance to push Jericho in their eyes. He rarely complained and he never missed a show, he didn't miss one Raw actually. He can wrestle, he can talk and he can play both babyface and heel great.
He's a model employee in Vince's eyes, and you can't tell what kind of a push he'd get. I wouldn't hold my breath, but in a time where they have few veterans and getting fewer and are in need of fresh yet recognizable talent Jericho could benefit bigtime.
He wouldn't make a huge splash in TNA. Nobody would. I was foolish enough to think Kurt Angle had a chance at bringing TNA to the plate, maybe even Monday Nights. But they've in many ways been doing worse since he showed up.
So Jericho wouldn't make much of a splash. He'd be a big fish, but it would be a small pond. He could still be a pretty big fish in an ocean in WWE. TNA just isn't the place to go when you're not struggling professionally or personally with the WWE. If you're in their good graces, it's clearly the better job.
And besides, its hard for anyone to make a splash in a pond thats extremely shallow water and damn near dried up.

It'd be great, but who says he even wants to wrestle again? He could say no to both companies and stick to sucking at music. Remember, not everyone is so easy to buy off as Joey Styles.

Chris Jericho is definitely itching to return to the ring, but he would prefer a Mick Foley-type part-time schedule. He would go to TNA if the money was right, and the schedule would be ideal, but he has been pretty consistent in telling people that WWE (http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/3738#) is his first preference.

WWE - Squash feud with Cena.

In that case, the second I heard the news that Jericho had signed I'd probably stop looking at wrestling related stuff online and make a point to see all WWE programming, and wouldn't be back here until after the return.
