I didn't check out PC and Xbox because I don't have an Xbox or play PC games ( might check out PC later though).
Just in case anyone doesn't want the lists spoiled I won't mention any of the games listed (You never know who's going to throw a fit about spoilers).
I'm really surprised at their pick for GBA's greatest game.
I fully agree with their top PS2 game.

I kind of agree with your opinion. I don't care about people complaining bout spoilers like you though so be warned. Was pretty surprised when I saw Wario Warez as top GBA game. It was the start of the franchise and was a lot of fun too, but pretty shocking. As for God of War I'm very happy that made number 1. It is probably my favorite game on PS2. Did think GTA III would take first though to be honest. It's the game everyone had to have for good reasons too. Was happy to see Twisted Metal Black making the top 10 for PS2 as well. Was a game that came out early on, so it would have been easy to forget about it. I was always amazed by that game, really liked some of the elements they encorporated into it. Would like to see anotwed Twisted Metal for PS3. As for Gamecube, not surprised they put Metroid Prime up on top. But am I the only person who doesn't really enjoy that game. I own it, bought it used for 3 bucks but just never got into it.

The GBA list is lame, just because a minigame made it to the top.
FFX shouldn't be a top 3 spot.
Rogue Leader should be higher. Then again, I can't name 25 good games. I didn't see Skies on there, and while it's a port, it's easily top 5 material...
Also, Steele is right about Halo.

Okami should have been higher on that list. I've heard nothing but great things about it. I would have put GTA 3 at number 1, God of War a few spots down.
The Xbox list is pretty damn good. I also agree with the above posters comments about Halo. Thank goodness Ninja Gaiden made it in the top ten.

Twilight princess is not on the list?........or DOOM?

Most of these lists are overall pretty good. Usually, I have a couple of games I see missing, or a couple of games in the top five that out and out piss me off...But that alone doesn't make a list bad.

God of War is where it should be
Doom should be higher
Halo is not that good, Fable should be higher, Halo 2 should be number one
GTA 3 should not be higher then San Andreas.
Sorry for that rant.

Burnout 3 should be higher than fucking Twisted Metal Black on the ps2. No fucking way was it better then Burnout.
And Jade Empire should not have been as high as KOTOR for Xbox.

I think doing a list like this must be hard, especially for PC. Should they create the list by how the games hold up by todays standards, or how the games held up when they came out. By that right, Twisted Metal Black was a huge success for PS2, being one of the first online games to go online. The same holds true for GTA3, it revolutionized the industry in numerous ways. While San Andreas may be a bigger and better version of GTA3, can it be said it had as big of an impact on the industry.
And I'll have to agree with Kane Knight, overall these lists are pretty solid. You may want something higher or lower, but overall most games that appear on the list deserve to be on the list. Just where on the list is the hard part.

Their PC list is retarded, how is Rome:Total War ranked higher then Fallout? How is fucking Baldur's Gate ranked higher then System Shock 2, and where is Diablo II?
I hate these top games of all time lists, if they asked the same people a year from now for the same top games, it would be completely different.

Um, no. Halo 1 was the good one. Halo 2 sucks ass. The story was pretty retarded, and the multiplayer was extremely retarded.
Halo 1's multiplayer still surpasses 95% of any other FPS games as far as fun goes. (notice I didn't say 95% of games.. because there are a lot of games better, but not many FPS's better)
Football Manager couldn't make the PC list?

You must of never heard of Quake, Unreal Tournament, Counterstrike or MOH.

CS is good, didn't like Quake, didn't like UT, CoD was better than MOH.
But keep in mind Halo 1 is an xbox game, and as far as xbox games go, Halo 1's multiplayer surpasses any other MP game on the regular xbox. (Note, not 360.. R6: Vegas destroys Halo 1)
Not to mention the original Rainbow Six on PC was amazing.

They didn't include TP because it was considered a Wii game. At least that was there explanation as to why it was left off.
Which is bullshit, because it was technically designed to be a Cube game anyway.

Didn't read, didn't care. Figured the list would be made of the 'fanboy' games, and everyone would throw a hissy fit over it.
Meh.

No technical about it. It was ported to the Wii, but it is a Cube game. All things considered, I should have bought the GC version. Then I would've felt a little less ripped.

TP was really fun to play on Wii, but I'm content with my GC version. Don't really care about the added controller features.
Kane Knight

the "features" are pretty limited, and made it difficult for me top play the game when exercising, one of the only times in a day where I play games.

The "technical" part being that it was released on Wii first. In most peoples' minds, that makes it a Wii game.
Nintendo really stretched the ball on that one, and I'm sure more than a few fan boys would have bought both, making it basically $100 for the same game. Should have either made it the last Cube game or scratched it from the Cube all together.
Kane Knight
03-24-2007, 11:44 PM
But if people would buy both...
...I mean, I may dislike it, but damn if it isn't smart marketing.

Basically, iy's like anything else you can market. They've got like 5 versions of each Lord of the Rings DVD, and each sold well. Then there's CDs. Do you know how many times they've sold A Night at the Opera by Queen? I think it's sad that I own three versions (Boxed set, Hollywood release, DVDA), but there are people who own nine or more copies.
Nintendo has discovered that porting old games makes you money, for example. Some of the Zelda games now have 5 or 6 releases, pre VC. People buy them.
As for whether they should have, yes, they should have left this as the last GCN game, but let's face it. Nintendo has a shitty lineup for the Wii right now, and its launch was worse.
Of course it's all about money.
There were three versions of the original Pokemon, I own ALL THREE. And they continue to release the same basic game with a slightly different story. There must be at least 10 Pokemon games that are exactly the same, only difference being the story, a few extra Pokemon or graphics.
Never realized it, but Nintendo really are milking their series' for all their worth.
Kane Knight
03-25-2007, 06:57 PM
Is that different from Madden, Tony Hawk, or most franchises?
With the first few Pokemon, no. The first four or so games were basically the same game.
Kane Knight
03-25-2007, 07:43 PM
For the most part, that's true of all the major series.
Pokémon was an interesting idea, because it had some A or B exclusives. The idea, of course, is to encourage trading. But since that doesn't happen, it encourages multiple copies of the game. Great marketing.
On the other hand, probably a part of the reason game sales are in the shitter is that everybody's doing it.
Nintendo's been doing it for longer than most of the other guys, but it's sure not Nintendo-only.
