Devil May Cry 4 goes multiplatform

The title, formerly known as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, will now be also appearing on the Xbox 360 and PC.

The latest instalment in Dante's adventures has joined the list of titles that will no longer be platform-exclusive to Sony's next-gen console, which launches in the UK on Friday. The news is in line with a growing trend--many companies that are choosing to go multiplatform rather than limit profits with a single-format game.

Previous titles to go multiplatform include Grand Theft Auto IV, Assassin's Creed, Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War, Fatal Inertia (all previously PS3-exclusive), and Saint's Row (previously billed as an Xbox 360-exclusive).

Capcom said in a statement that Devil May Cry 4 "will take advantage of each platform's hardware strengths." The company added that the move was made to "to help enhance profits."

DMC was pretty much the only reason I was originally holding out for a PS3, before I got my 360 that was. This makes me so happy.

Good fucking god, I hate this with a passion. Not because I am a sony fanboy or anything. I am a proud 360 owner and love my xbox. But because I am addicted to the KOC and Firepro wrestling series. And even tho there is the very small possibility of those franchises coming to the 360, its not region free like the ps3. And there is no way I am modding my 360.

So that said, with every exclusive the ps3 loses, the less reason I have to actually buy one, even tho I will no matter what thanks to the previously mentioned games being released for that system. Gonna end up spending 600 dollars for two games.

Maybe. But Home is supposed to hit PS3s around the fall. So it might not be a total loss.

I don't think I'll be getting a PS3 at all anymore. I wanna play MGS4 but DMC4 was the decision maker for me.

That said, I generally have liked Sony more than Microsoft (although I adore my Xbox and 360, don't get me wrong. Dead Rising, Oblivion, SvR 07, whooo.), but the PS3 is ass. I'm pretty content with DMC 4 coming to the 360.

That said, I will be buying a PS3 in a very short amount of time, but only for the sake of HAVING one if something good happens to come out. DMC 4 will be on my 360.

Personally I don't care about DMC or MGS that much, I'm excited for Lair. If that game doesn't totally suck, I will feel like it was worth me purchasing the system.

Also, Warhawk looks really cool from the early gameplay videos I've seen, even though it's a network-title and has no singleplayer, it looks really fun.

I think the PS3 Cancer-Curing thing comes out tomorrow as well, so hoorah.
