--One of the main reasons for WWE moving this year’s ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view out of the Hammerstein Ballroom is due to the fact that the brand flopped and this year’s event will be ECW/RAW/SmackDown One night Stand. WWE officials feared that they could potentially face massive embarrassment due to “old school” ECW fans using the event as a protest vehicle. Stephanie McMahon argued in meetings that if Paul Heyman was still with the company, he would find ways to get fans in New York to sabotage the show.

Now im pissed....but it would be funny as hell if fans still go to the show and fuck everything up

I dont exactly understand why Stephanie would believe if Heyman was still with the company that he would screw them. Now that he has no power he will probably try to screw them ever more. Watch he will like pay for a bunch to come over to Florida.

Both the plane and event tickets would be "lost in the mail".

Yes Steph, because clearly DTD was a masterpiece and you'd hate to ruin the "New" ECW's flawless streak with PPV's.

Lol, little embarrased to admit it took me a second to recognize DTD let alone remember it...

It always amazes me that fans don't protest more at events in general. Not just ECW ones.

As if we couldn't figure this out on our own.

Cmon Steph, we didn't need any Heyman influence back in August when you gave us Big Show vs. Batista.
Imagine what the reaction would be for Snitsky vs. Booby Greenly

TNA, Heyman and Rhyno should get him to come to the show in disguise, jump the barrier and gore the ECW champion. Take the belt. Then run for the hills.
Okay, just felt like saying something so absurd.

Thats not a bad idea.. hm... But why would Rhino gore himself considering he was the last and FINAL ECW world heavyweight champion.
Jeritron

Well thats what I was getting at
Jeritron
03-20-2007, 06:37 PM
RVDs the last ECW champion in my mind, even though I suppose Rhyno is the last REAL one.
Crossrine
03-20-2007, 06:38 PM
Well we can agree BOTH are real champions over Booby Greenly.

RVD was never ECW Champion. Period.
Jeritron

Mikey Whipwreck was. Period.

Mikey was actually a very much above average ECW Champion. His reigns were fantastically booked.
Crossrine
03-20-2007, 06:44 PM
Do you mean world heavy weight or tv? Because he set the record for tv title, he held it for like a year and 11 months...
Jeritron
03-20-2007, 06:47 PM
RVDs TV title reign was excellent. It's the type of thing they should have done with him and the IC strap. Maybe not THAT long but same idea. Would have helped him and the belt a lot.

Ya, I heard they may bring the ECW tag team champions. Kinda dumb considering they broke up the real Full blooded Italians. :( Mamaluke.. :(

Don't be embarrassed man, you have a gift...explore it. Hire a team of scientists to study it and then make a pill and send one to me.
Because I remember, damnit...I remember. :nono:

Such a dumb move. Seriuosly, who are they gonna put them on? Only thing I can think of it one a new breed pairing or Sandman and Dreamer. Or on both and booking a fued.
Still think its tremendously stupid to bring in ANOTHER set of tag belts, especially in ECW.
If anything they should bring in the Television Title. It'd be great for the CM Punks, Elijah Burkes, Kevin Thornes and such. It'd be a great way to book a CM Punk RVD fued too.
But with the tag titles coming in look for things to get worse. I mean, what can you do in that department? They're just gonna put together random, shitty pairings of random, shitty wrestlers and book them in random, shitty matches on their random, shitty show.

Heyman would have to commandeer a mic, or at least take a page out of Jimmy Hart's book and bring a megaphone. It wouldn't be the same without hearing...
"GORE! GORE! GORE!"

Come on Jeritron, OBVIOUSLY these are more belts for Cena to win.
I'm amazed they didn't give him Benoit's belt last night.

I'm not.

I thought they had good chemistry. I'd like to see them fued after Mania with Benoit winning a "Most Submission's in 60 Minutes" match for the belt.

It's funny cause the WWE think the true ECW fans won't come to One Night Stand.
They'll find a way and oh boy there will be shit to pay.

This made me think, what would happen if on a massive scale, a WWE PPV was sabotaged. Like for example with the money and human resources, someone bought most if not all the tickets, to say for example Wrestlemania, and gave them out for free. With the stipulation that they had to get up and walk out of the arena during the Cena vs HBK match, how would they, and the WWE react to such a thing, they couldn't edit it out, or not show it on live tv, I would likely die laughing if someone followed up on this.
Jeritron
03-21-2007, 12:08 AM
First of all, to follow up on such a thing you'd have to expend tremendous amounts of planning. Plus to give all those tickets away, and give instructions on what to do. That would take a ton of time and the information would probably get out before.
Plus most people wouldn't get up and leave.
So what you're saying is a funny concept, but its impossible.
Jeritron
03-21-2007, 12:10 AM
Plus the financial side of things, is well...nearly impossible. You'd have to be Bill Gates. And know about 70,000 people who will follow directions and not leave, who can keep a secret and would go to one part of the country. Plus securing that many tickets under one name or even several names would be a red flag instantly.

Yeah, I know it will never happen, but my god, what would happen if it did.

which is what it takes to make Mikey Whipwreck a world champion. Phenomenal booking. Don't get me wrong, nothing against Mikey or ECW. I just think he's a perfect example of their greatest strength, booking and one of their greatest weaknesses, image and "it".

It's such a shame when I look at old ECW vids and compare it to WWECW....the whole thing just makes me want to cry actually. That name ECW is being pissed on every Tuesday night.

actually I take that back, clearly their biggest weakness was the lack of a checkbook

I agree. It's such a joke. I mildly enjoy some shit like Punk and the new breed stable but that's only because I'm an optimist.
I was watching some of Cactus' matches on dvd, and some of RVDs as well, and it prompted me to pop in an old ECW vhs. The whole thing just got me really upset.

I've tried to watch WWECW even for CM Punk, but it was just absolute garbage. I can't even watch a minute of that. The only wrestling shows that are bareable and I can watch are Raw and Impact.

I didn't know Impact was bearable

I swear to god last night I though to my self why dont I just go to bed and get an extra hour of sleep rather than watch. I would love to take like a bunch of real ecw fans to florida but I am too broke. Bad thing about ECW fans is even though they are loyal as hell they are also broke as hell. So dont count on too many being there. BUT expect TNA fans considering it is in florida. I dunno who said it here but I MUST AGREE THAT ECW ON TNN WAS BETTER THAN THIS SHIT.
