They should do it in the Impact! Zone. At least then they'll get the face pops they want.

Pretty awesome that it'll be outside though.

Main Event: Undertaker vs Edge, World Title. Edge ends Taker's streak in a ferocious downpour amidst thunder and lightning. *drool*

That's awesome news. That's probably the coolest place the can have a Wrestlemania, meaning a huge outdoor arena, the exact huge outdoor arena is inconsequential.

I'm sure they'll set it up where there is a huge cover over the ring and the rest of the stadium is completely open air, kinda like they did with Wrestlemania IX. It should be cool to see.

It'd be awesome if it were The Undertaker versus Edge streak versus streak, but we all know it'll be Triple H in the main event to make his return from quad surgery complete, hopefully against someone other then John Cena.

It should be a pretty cool venue and visual for Wrestlemania.

Jeritron

Wrestlemania gets a jet flyover during the national anthem. Plus it'll be cool to see the card start out with daylight and the sky fade off into sunset and eventually blackness for the last hour or two of the show.

Xero
03-21-2007, 12:45 PM
Actually it'll be dark by the time they start.

Jeritron
03-21-2007, 12:49 PM
It'll get dark around 7:30 here on the eastcoast. So yea, I was wrong I guess, unless the show starts early.
I'm glad it'll be dark out though.

This'll be the first time in like 15 years it'll be outside.

It was held outside in Las Vegas at Ceasar's Palace. It was really bright and in the middle of the day, tremendously lame, and the arena was really small. It was like a TNA taping. Okay maybe not that small, but it was damn small. It wasn't even a stadium I don't think, it was like bleachers.

Don't forget the mandatory "This is awesome!" *clap* *clap* *clapclapclap* after an arm drag or dropkick.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I haven't seen Mania 9 in years, so I don't have many memories of it.

Still trying to find a full overhead crowd shot. But as you can see, that crowd is pretty lame. It's like one deck of bleachers. And that's the main event, which it was still broad daylight out for.

If you haven't watched 9 and 11 yet consider yourself blessed. Seize the oppurtunity and refrain. You shouldn't have watched 13 either aside form the Austin/Bret match.

That's like saying there were 90 BILLION fans at WrestleMania 3. Couldn't have been more than 10,000, and that's being generous.

Sounds cool that it's going to be an outside venue. But also seems odd that they are gonna hold their biggest show in the home of TNA.

I just can't believe anyone would even call Orlando the home of TNA. I mean, don't dellude yourself into thinking it's actually a factor in WWEs mind or motives. They probably haven't even noticed yet.

Slim's Myspace.

I hope they put together a monumental main event for next year though.
I honestly wish they'd get Austin vs Hogan, just so it could be done and over with. It'd be even more special if they both made it their last match. Though I'd riot if Stone Cold didn't go over.

Rock vs Michales is another one that wouldn't happen but would rock the house.

And even though I hate them both, a Cena vs Batista title unification match would probably be huge for WWE and Wrestlemania if they did it.

Personally I'd love to see Jericho in next years main event. Or Taker/Edge.

sad but true. It pains me to say it, but it'd probably be this generations Austin/Rock or Hogan/Savage meeting. It really hurt me to type that, but its the painful truth. The young fans and total marks for the current product would eat it up. And even the smart fans who disagree with the current product who were in attendance would probably get into it. Just because it seems everyone who hates both of them or one of them, sees one of them as the lesser of two evils.

The WrestleMania IX makeshift stadium was set up in Caeser's Palace car park. There is no way that there was in excess of 16,000 fans at that event.

Watch the video below to relive one of the most sickening ends to a WrestleMania of all time, plus see one of the best looking WrestleMania set-ups of all time, even if the crowd was smaller than you would expect at a WrestleMania.

I liked the WM 9 set-up, one of my favorites.

I also liked The Steiners tag match with The Headshrinkers. Loved those two teams, and they had some great bouts with each other. Michaels - Tatanka was an alright match too.

what....the....fuck...?

Jeritron

Something just donned on me. It's outdoors, meaning no roof....

so how the hell will they do MITB, any kind of ladder match or hell in a cell or what not. Doubtful that there'd be a hell in a cell, and if they had a cage they'd just use one of the built ones as opposed to a lowered one.

But if they have any intentions of doing a ladder match or MITB match they're gonna have to a) have some kind of rig like the old nitros, which would be stupid looking and obstruct vision, especially for the upper decks.
or b) have some kind of upside down L attached to a ring post hanging out over the ring assembled before the match.
which would make you wonder why they wouldn't just climb that thing and snag the belts, which would actually play into a spot.
however it'd be pretty TNAish and lame.

NeanderCarl
03-22-2007, 07:52 PM
Ummm... well maybe they'll simply rest the money in the bank for a year, or redesign the concept. I would assume, much like WrestleMania IX, they will have some kind of canopy/shelter over the ring anyway, in case of bad weather., and they could hang the briefcase from that.

I might actually try and go to Mania next year, but it would be just my luck to finally get to a WrestleMania and face a total wash out. Also, they need to start the card earlier to get the daylight-into-night effect of Manias 3, 8, 9 and 19.

The One
03-22-2007, 07:56 PM
They are still going to have over head lights on the ring. They might hang they lighting structure from the sides of the arena with cables or such, but it's not all that uncommon. Then simply hang the breifcase from that.

Jeritron
03-22-2007, 09:06 PM
Most football arenas have powerful enough lights to light up the whole arena well. I don't know if WWE would still want to put their own lights above the ring though.

This'll be the first time in like 15 years it'll be outside.

Didn't they have an outside WM in Seatle a few years back?

Stay-und back! There's a hurricane coming through!

"Stay in the back! ....or at least in the parking lot, or something. We're outside so it's kinda confusing. The Hurricane's here! Or was it that I'm coming to getcha? Damn. I haven't done this in so long..."

Jeritron
03-23-2007, 12:09 PM
Seattle wasn't outside. First of all, you'd have to be a tremendous idiot to schedule an outdoor event in SEATTLE.

But it was at safeco field, and the roof was closed. The only thing that made it "partially open" was that since the roof is retractable there was the lack of a wall, leaving exposed sky in the left and centerfield portions of the park. This was around where the entrance was with the left field bleachers being above the entrance way.

Stickman

STAND BACK!

If there is a cage match at this mania maybe thay'll finally go back to the blue cage.

Theo Dious
03-23-2007, 03:03 PM
I'd love to see them build aan Ultimate X-like structure, ostensibly just to hang the briefcase from. Don't mention anything about it until just before the match starts. "As you can see, they have had to construct a special structure to hang the briefcase, since we are outdoors." After the match has gone on for long enough, you show one of the guys climbing along one of the cables, having done so completely off-screen.

King: This is amazing! He's going to get the briefcase like that!
JR: Dammit that's not right! Bah gawd, this is supposed to be a ladder match!
*wrestler falls to the ring seconds before grabbing the case*
King: I told you JR, what kind of stupid idiot would climb the cable like that to win a match?!
