View Full Version : The "If You Said It Back Then..." thread...
This thread is all about shit we could never have believed 1/5/10/15/whatever years ago. Stuff we would have called people crazy for claiming.
- Eric Bischoff would work for Vince McMahon.
- An "Invasion" of WCW and ECW into the WWF would be one of the worst-handled angles ever.
- Hunter Hearst Helmsley will marry Vince McMahon's daughter and become one of the biggest name in the business.
- Cactus Jack will be pulling socks out of his pants, making Chef Boyardee commercials, and become a #1 best-selling author.
- Jamal will somehow become uncivilized and be involved in one of a WrestleMania's main matches.
- Rob Van Dam will become WWE champion and screw himself over.
- The Giant will be ECW champion in the WWE.
- Ric Flair will wrestle in ECW.
Continue.

You know that guy who is a Bodyguard for Woman? You know, the chick who manages those blacked masked guys? He's gonna be a World Champion one day. (I'll be impressed if anyone knows who I speak of here.)
Speaking of those blacked masked guys, One of them is gonna get super over just by saying "Damn."
The Ebony Experience? I bet that one of them is gonna be a World Champion!
I bet if they brought Finlay back from retirement and gave him a midget, he'd be over.
"Mean" Marc Callous will be one of the biggest names in WWF for over 15 years.
DDP has a chance to make it as a wrestler...
The Diamond Stud's going to the WWF? That's gonna flop.

5 years after the ruling, fanboys would still be bitching about the WWF.
DX would reunite, and be the best thing on the Raw Roster.
ECW would return under the banner of Vince McMahon.
Kane would be unmasked, only to reveal he's not disfigured--Just ugly.
There would be bitching about someone holding the title too long--And it's not Triple H.
WWE's greatest "competition" would be a company that hired all its castoffs.
Shannon Moore would still be around.
"You know what sounds like a gimick the IWC could suppoert? A group of male cheerleaders!"

- The guy that had the classic "RKO Injury Updates" on RAW shit in another person's accessory product.
- Kurt Angle wouldn't be working for the WWE (because he pisses excellence)
- Bret Hart leaving the WWE the way he did.
- The nWo even forming (mostly hogan going heel and not retiring)
- *Srsly happened* Me: "Man, that Rocky Miavia dude is already IC champ. Bet he'll never be world champ though. He's too GENERIC"
- Sting having one of the greatest god damn gimmicks to ever hit wrestling. His gimmick in the beginning was good enough for me, so i thought it couldn't get any better...
- Rock v. Hogan...NEVER thought it would happen...just thought Hogan would be retired and another reincarnation of the nWo would be out of the question for Vincent.

The WCW comment isn't THAT unreal.
And as for Donald Trump being at Wrestlemania, what's so suprising about that? He was at Wrestlemania 20, he hosted and was at Wrestlemania 4 and 5. And he's friends with Vince McMahon. No suprise at all really.

** Kane(when he debuted) This character will be fucked in no time
The Kane storyline and character went over way better than anyone probably thought it would. He had his ups and downs, but the character remained pretty strong and a top name for years and years to come, and even today he is still one of the most over names on the roster and continues to generate great fan reactions.
Kane is a huge success story in an area of wrestling that has very little success, at least long term in a serious main event capacity. Thats over the top supernatural gimmicks. And Kane is probably the second best one ever. So I wouldn't say the character was fucked in no time, and if it was, it happened longer down the road than anyone would have thought.

Kane has been a joke almost since inception. I think this is what he's referring to, but in terms of longevity, he has made it as a glorified jobber, the upper card's Scotty 2 Hotty.
Okay, hyperbole there, but so what? :p
WCW would get bought out by Vince McMahon 4 months before ECW goes bankrupt.
Bradshaw of the APA will turn out to be a financial genius and turn it into a Dallas JR like gimmick that will help him become WWF Champion for nearly one year.
Kurt Angle will get releashed from the WWE and go to TNA while acting like the Ultimate Warrior.
The guy who did the 1-800-COLLECT commercials and stared in Scream will be one of the last WCW Champions.
That guy that helped make some of the really good storylines in WWF...he's going to get hired by WCW and totally fuck up the company more than it was.
Eddie Guerrero is going to be WWF Champion one day, but is going to die 1 1/2 later.
Chris Benoit is going to the WWF and wrestle HHH and a returning HBK in the wrestlemania main event to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Tough Enough 1 and 2 didn't bring in any wrestlers that were worth keeping, but I just know that Tough Enough 3 will bring in a fairly carasmatic, athletic star that will be an Intercontinetal Champion.
WCW will have a feud with WWF on WWF television with Steve Austin being the WCW leader. The man chosen by WWF however to take on WCW will be Olympic Wrestling Gold Medalist Kurt Angle.
Ric Flair will one be HHH's lacky.
Shawn Michaels will always be #1 in DX and HHH will be #2, and that will never change.
Bret Hart will accept an offer to be in the WWF Hall of Fame 8 years after the Montrial incident.
One day WWFs biggest competition would be a company founded by Jeff Jarrets father.
Scott Stiener will become super buff and a WCW Champion.
Mrs. Elizebeth will die after spending a night with Lex Luger

I wasn't too far off, though. The guy who I was referring to, Nitron, did wrestle as Big Sky, who was a regular tag team partner for Vinnie Vegas. I thought Nitron WAS Vegas. Age finally catching up with me...

Ah right. Fair enough.
I seem to have an incredible capacity to remember wrestlers' real names, at least from the mid 80s through until the early 2000s. How random is it that I remembered BIG FUCKING SKY's real name? This despite not really hearing much about him in probably well over ten years, bar the fact that he's in some X-Men movies (which I have never seen).
