Reign Over Me

I saw this on Monday, and wow. It is such an awesome character drama. I haven't been this emotionally impacted by a movie in quite some time.

I saw it with three of my guy friends, and all three of us (manly facial hair wearing men) nearly cried at three points.

Adam Sandler is amazing in this movie. You really feel for him and I never thoguht, "Hey, that's Adam Sandler." I actually felt like he was the character.

Don Cheadle kicked ass too. I'm definitely gonna look into more of his movies, because I haven't seen many of them.

I've heard great things about Reign Over Me, particularly Sandler's performance. James Berardinelli didn't like it, but every other review I have read is in support of it. :y:

I'd take Sandler taking more dramatic roles than retarded "comedy" roles any day of the week, personally.

Adam Sandler is a big star, so if he decides to focus his studios more on making meaningful movies, he could actually do the world a good service.

That film is pretty moving, the scene on the road (not to give it away to those who haven't seen the movie) and just after it when Cheadle breaks down were pretty powerful, and superbly acted/handled.

I'll keep and eye out for this film!
