This match was great. :y:
I miss face Shelton Benjamin. This match put Shelton over good, and they really should have followed it up.
This is also a testament to how great surprises in wrestling can be.

Watching that match again, it just occured to me how on Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler were. Jim Ross notices some of the nuances of the match, realises how great it's going to be, and pays it special attention. Jerry Lawler actually has some relevent insights to it.

Shelton Benjamin's matches with Shawn Michaels and Triple H were great, not because they felt like passing the torch moments, but because they felt like taking the torch moments. :D

Another great match:

It's a little sad how over Billy Kidman's shitty Shooting Star Press was compared to the elegence of Paul London's Calling, but ah well. Still one of the best professional wrestling matches I've seen for its level, and this is evidence that Paul London can do it all.
Remember when the WWE used to pay this much attention to the mid-card? Good times.

In fact, everyone should do themselves a favour and just search Paul London on that site. There is some fucking goodness there. :y:
His matches with Sabin in TNA, Kazarian on Velocity (where he cuts a promo afterwards that has more emotion in it than anything Randy Orton has ever done) and Bryan Danielson in Ring of Honor are definitely worth the watch. Some of his shit with Kendrick is on there, too. Always some of the better stuff the WWE puts on in the week.

Yeah, there's also some stuff with Little Guido, a Street Fight with Matt Bentley and a match with The Tolands where London hits a nice move off the back of one of his opponents onto the other.
Six posts in a row. Sorry, Johnny, didn't mean to hijack this thing. :(

Oh no, you're good 06, but that match with Michaels & Benjamin just made me think "why didn't they follow up". Like, maybe it was staged, but you could tell that Michaels had or has now some level of respect for Benjamin and vice versa.
If they don't know what to do with Benjamin, just keep WGTT in the title hunt real close and look at his matches with Haas. They will be so over that they (WWE) would HAVE to put the titles on them.
I still say WGTT should adopt a Miami Vice gimmick.
