During the Battle Royal for the WTTC last night, They had the perfect opportunity to Unify the Tag Titles, with London and Kendrick in the match, and instead they waste their time and give them to the Hardy's? Just give Smackdown the Tag Team environment, there's really no need or time for it on Raw as it. They can BARELY book a decent main event and mid card scene, let alone manage Tag Titles.
I'm not saying in any way shape or form that London and Kendrick are worth TV time, but they're probably the most credible Tag Team right now, so just give them the belts and shut the fuck up. Simple.
Other than that, Raw wasn't too bad (Minus Umaga vs. Lashley).

Well I dunno about you, but I am pretty shocked that WWE would make a bad booking decision.

I kind of think it's nice to have two sets of Tag Team Champions. I think there should be more interaction between them, though. The Hardys and London & Kendrick could probably meet down the line in a unification Ladder Match.

If they're going to keep interpromotional matches not just on PPVs but on regular tv, they need to unify all the belts. Or at least Raw and SD, since ECW is "a separate entity." Just have the wrestler be "contracted" to one show, which is his home turf. But with all the belts and barely any credible champions let alone challengers, they need to cut back. For reals.

I wouldn't call it a perfect chance to unify the titles. In fact, it would have been an awful way to do it.
Now it's on the Hardys, and thats hardly a waste. Now if you wanted to unify those titles you could easily have an interpromotional fued with the Hardys and L&K that concludes with a TLC match for those belts.

Yeah, I agree with Jeritron and KK. It really would have been a yucky way to unify the belts. I think a unification needs to be advertised before the bell actually rings, and not just "Hey, we just realised these guys are both WWE and World Tag Team Champions now...we're only going to keep one set of belts!"
You know, when London went out I thought he had slipped. The reaction he gave and Brian just standing there like "what the hell?" made it seem like a mistake.

It could have been a mistake. I haven't seen the spot. The WWE usually does have guys eliminated in things like hurricanrana spots, though.
My guess is that Brian Kendrick didn't fuck up, and that he was meant to go with Chavo, so that they can tease a London/Kendrick break-up (again), and Chavo and Helms might even win the WWE Tag Team Championship, just as a way of keeping Chavo happy enough to stay (rumours say he's considering leaving), and it's another reign for Helms, who they have under long-term contract and are currently doing anothing with.
I don't really like it, but don't be surprised to see Chavo and Helms win the WWE Tag Team Championship as early as SmackDown! this week, and London and Kendrick to be put into a feud with each other. I would much rather see them stick together and beat Chavo/Helms, though.

But yeah, Paul London is a surprisingly good personality, as well as a wrestler, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was just selling his being eliminated via his partner's elimination really well. I certainly wouldn't like it if I was told I couldn't stay in a match for a Championship because my partner wasn't good enough to stay in.

I was more bothered by how awful that match was. You have two guys that the WWE is forcing upon us, trying to get us to believe that they're amazing, but both sucked it up in the ring. Lashley was meant to dominate that match, and all his others, but he didn't do anything interesting. He's a shit champion with no charisma.

Lashley has a "quiet charisma" about him. It's the same kind of charisma Charlie Haas has, in my opinion. An "if you piss me off, you will get fucked up" kind of charisma.
But yeah, he doesn't have the right personality for the role the WWE is trying to make him play. People walking out of his main event is evidence of that.

I think it's great the WWE puts London & Kendrick over as the longest reigning Champions in the last 18 years, and the fourth longest reigning Champions of all-time; I just also wish they'd point out that they have held the WWE Tag Team Championship longer than anyone else in history. They have this series of quasi-records for them, when there is one that cannot be bested right in front of them.

Didn't see this thread unttil now, just said something similar in another thread about unifying the tag titles, there's no need to have both of them now they have tag teams appearing on both shows.
Mr. Nerfect

I think it would be sweet if the WWE has an interpromotion competition break out between London & Kendrick and The Hardys. Both teams go all over the place to try and defend their respective Tag Team Championship.
I wouldn't make it a major part of the feud, or anything, but for something that can just be reported on WWE.com, you could even have London & Kendrick work one Ring of Honor show, or something. Have them defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Briscoe Brothers.
It'd be a nice little rivalry building towards a unification Ladder Match.

I think a unification needs to be advertised before the bell actually rings, and not just "Hey, we just realised these guys are both WWE and World Tag Team Champions now...we're only going to keep one set of belts!"
Yet, it was probably the best they could do with an excuse.

They could have just announced them as the "WWE World Tag Team Champions" and had them start carrying the old-style belts, and not said a damn thing about it. It would be WWE's style after all.

Also, I hardly consider things like "Nitro and Miz" to be Tag Teams. Furthermore, the whole "One man's out, his partner is out" doesn't fly with me. I find the who scenario to be weak, at best. A 20-team Gauntlet? Now THAT would be NICE.
Mr. Nerfect
04-07-2007, 07:22 PM
I think Johnny Nitro and Mike Mizanin fit to be honest. There's just a lot of similarities to them. Both came out of the Tough Enough contest, both have Hollywood-type personas, both are cruiserweights that the WWE seems to see above the division, etc. They could also be called MNM.
I probably wouldn't like to see them teaming all the time, or anything, but I thought they fit nicely.
The single partner elimination kind of works, I feel. In regular tag team matches, you don't need to pin both guys (although elimination matches occasionally would be fun), so why eliminate both in a Battle Royal? It'd be better if the WWE followed up on the tension, though. Have Viscera and Val Venis feud because Venis was eliminated, costing Vis the match, etc.

A Battle Royal has nothing to do with a regular match. Battle Royals exist to shift the odds in the favor of the lesser wrestler. If anything, a Tag Titles Battle Royal should end with the last two men in the ring winning the titles. There should be no "Your partner lost, now you must leave." It should simply be "You two stuck it out; you two get the titles."
Evil Vito

<font color=goldenrod>The part that bothered me the most about the match was that some of the teams were complete bollocks. Eugene and Hacksaw broke up like a month earlier. Venis and Vis conceivably broke up due to Vis becoming a heel. But of course, we probably aren't supposed to remember any of that.
I almost think it would be cooler if instead of the "your partner is out, you are out" thing, they made it so that the final two people remaining, no matter who they were, would get the titles. This way it would have made more sense to have all the singles wrestlers in there that they did and the teams would really have to try and work together so that they don't end up getting stuck with someone they don't like as their partner.</font>

Seems like they were trying to plant the seeds for a Hardy's/LondRick fued,,,,
Wasnt there talk of ECW getting tag team titles a while back. So my first reaction of the ECW teams in that match was that is how they were gonna do it. But I guess I was wrong.
