View Full Version : So who is going to take the ECW title from Lashley?

Who I say. Too early for Punk? Snitsky?

I think the best guy with a shot is Elijah Burke. He's being billed as the leader of the New Breed. He can work; he can talk. Elijah Burke could be one of the gems ECW has to offer.

Either Cor Von or Burke would be my guess.

Either Cor Von or Burke would be my guess.

Cor Von is a realistic guess, as well. Given his size, I was tempted to say him, but I remember reading something about the WWE and Cor Von not being on the best terms at the moment, because Cor Von isn't allowed to play crazy, and The Pounce isn't being called The Pounce.

Of course, that could all change, and could even be bullshit. I just like Burke better.

Meh, don't really give a shit about Burke.

Mr. Nerfect

Burke is easily my favourite of the New Breed. He's followed by Kevin Thorn, Matt Striker and Cor Von (in that order). I'm actually really happy with how this Originals vs. New Breed thing is turning out.

Lashley will never lose the belt.....EVER! He's being "protected" along with Cena, remember?

I never thought I would say this, but Cena will not be protected once HHH comes back.

Thank god.

Elijah with the help of the New Breed. And when/if the ECW tag titles come into play I want them to be won by 2 of the New Breeders. They will have all the gold and seem bad ass.

Got to be Elijah and then a CM Punk/Elijah Burke/ Lashley feud will start I think.

My honest guess is no one. Truthfully, I suspect the brand to be terminated before Lashley's Cenaman push is over.

If the brand stays alive, I'm going out on a limb with Burke as my answer.

I would say Burke, but I am fearful that it could be Snitsky with the push he has been getting.

Good thought. :y:

My guess is that Matt Striker and Kevin Thorn win the ECW Tag Team Championship, and Marcus Cor Von just wears bling and acts as an enforcer.

Is it wrong that I actually get excited at the prospect of this feud.

Also, Arnold and The One do bring up valid points. Although I did suggest Elijah Burke, I can't really see it happening like next week. Lashley is Vince's new thing, and Lashley could very well hold the belt for forever and a day.

I got a feeling were going to see Elijah beat Lashley with help from Vince aswell as the new breed, rather than just the new breed.

Nah, I got excited when i came up with it. Just seems logical to me. Maybe even throw an ECW original in there to, such as RVD.

That would kick ass. Everyone brings at least something to the table. I wouldn't mind some kind of stable warfare breaking out down the line. New Breed vs. ECW Originals vs. Second City Saints vs. The Forgottens (just a bunch of guys like Stevie Richards and The FBI who follow Lashley so he has the numbers).

By the way, an Elijah Experience into an exposed turnbuckle would be an awesome way for Lashley to lose the ECW Title. :y:

Well I was hoping that at Wrestlemania Rob Van Dam would turn on the ECW Orignals and join the New Breed, saying that he's not so forgotten relic, he is still relevent and he'll lead ECW into the future. This RVD becaomes the leader of the New Breed.

Hopefully down the road they'll still do this eventually leading to RVD beating Lashley with help from guys like Burke, Striker, Cor Von, and Torne. Then they could slowly build up tension between Burke and Van Dam.

I can see even Khali being fed to Lashley. I'm actually really suprised they didn't save the "epic" bodyslam for him too. Reports a while ago stated that Vince's intention is to build Lashley up to be as credible champion as any other in WWE so he will be a major "star" if/when ECW dies off and he has to join another brand. Unfortunately, WWE's definition of "credible" means not ever losing. So yeah, plan on him having the strap permanently.

BUT, if he were to lose it, he wouldn't get pinned. It would probably be a 3 way dance situation where Lashley lost the title without ever getting beaten. Probably allowing Vince to SCREW him. I could see Burke winning after pinning RVD or Punk.

After last nights match on ECW, there's alot of potential to make that brand pretty damn entertaining if Vince allows it. There's some guys who can go!

Chris Benoit. Or if RVD signs a new contract, his push will pick up where it got killed.
Hopefully not Snitsky. I don't even think they're that stupid.
Burke and CM Punk would be good candidates, but they're small and I think they're goal is to push them slow and steady. I don't see WWE putting them up against a hoss like Lashley either. At least not for the win.

But I would hope the next ECW Champ is RVD or Burke, and then those two can fued over the title.

Elijah Burke could be for the New Breed what The Rock was for the Nation of Domination. It would be pretty sweet to see Burke and RVD feud when it becomes established they both want to lead the New Breed. :y:

I say, Kevin THorn is really the "serious one" out of the New Breed, in that he's clearly not so much friends with the others, as he sees them as leverage. The character just doesn't seem very "buddy-buddy". Due to that, I can see him breaking away first and gunning for the title. Winning it, maybe once, Edge style, but dropping it back to Lashley in a gimmick match. That way, it brings him up a notch w/o burying him completely afterward, and still "protecting" Black Lesnar.

I see where you're coming from, and I would love for that to happen, but I can't see Thorn being the one to end Lashley's reign. I love Thorn and all, but I see him and Striker being two guys that are definitely fed to Lashley.

I could also see Stryker taking it. In fact, we could set things up in a 5 Man Free-for-All type situation, where it's the NB vs. Lashley. Obviously, everyone beats on Lashley, but have Bobby take them on virtually one-on-one. Not exactly an "I can beat all of zem" scenario a la cenapush, but a bit more realistic. However, do NOT have the NB implode. Have the guys set to make Burke the new champ, only in a sudden blast of finisher spot madness, Bobby deflects everyone's trademarks, save for a disastrous Learning Curve from Mr. Stryker, who then gets the pin and the title.

That could lead to several angles:

1. Stryker seeks protection from the NB during a rematch w/Lashley; the Breed arrives, and leaves just before the Dominator/Spinebuster and the W for Lashley.

2. During said "protect me" angle, Burke attempts to help Stryker retain, but while Bobby heads to spear Matt, the teacher ducks and Lashley smashes Eli. Amidst the confusion, another Learning Curve -- the beauty of a "behind the opponent" move -- and title retension.

3. Stryker simply defects from the NB, saying his partners were too stupid to see the ploy from the beginning: assemble a team of muscle-brained noobs and use them as a distraction to sidewind his way to the top. He's now both a genius and a champion, and clearly doesn't need the help of retard lackeys.

Or, fuck it, do all three. I think I"d like to see a Lashley/Stryker/Burke triple threat, especially for said title.
