Apparently, according to the Wrestling Observer newsletter, last night Elijah Burke seriously blew out his knee. I'm no doctor, so I don't know how major that is. But "blowing out" your knee doesn't sound good.

I can imagine. Didn't he do that move of his through a table?

he did that move to sabu who then went thru the table. he was grabbing his knee after but i just thought it was kayfabe. time for punk to step into his role and lead the new breed.

Well, watching the video, it looked pretty legit, because you don't roll around in that severe pain just to sell, especially since the reaction was immediate.

After rewatching the vid a few times, I noticed that he landed awkwardly on his knee on Sabu's back. The position of both men meant that Burke's knee was basically crashing into something pretty damn stiff, so I wondered whether he was legit hurt or not. They showed the thing at the end where he was standing, though, so I figured he wasn't seriously hurt.

Guess he was.

Blowing out his knee can mean all kinds of things. Normally it means that he tore every ligamet in his knee. But i've heard that term used for hyper-exstensions and dislocations.

Burke apparently worked an OVW show afterwards, so I doubt he'll miss any time. :y:

^ Good to hear, maybe we'll still get that RVD/Elijah/Lashley/Cm Punk feud.

I have 'blown out' my knee, and technically speaking its complete tears of your three majors ligements and cartiledge. But the term gets thrown around alot and who knows exactly what they mean by it.

If he does have complete tears of ACL, PCL, MCL, and Cartiledge he might never be back. But if he worked another show afterwards, this is probably BS altogether and the fact that he was standing at the end of the show even is a good sign it wasn't a true blow out.

Unless your name is RVD and you're overselling your own frog splash.

 Nah, that was more extreme than even RVD's typical self selling.

The angle they did on ECW on Sci-Fi on Tuesday with Snitsky destroying Bob Holly's arm is a cover for Holly's long-needed elbow surgery. He will be out of action for a while.

Elijah Burke wasn't really injured during the main event of Tuesday's ECW show. He was just doing a really good sell job of his knee.

I love how the same sources post conflicting stories. I suppose it's a correction but it was definitely the Observer who reported that he legitimately injured his knee

I bet alot of people will be selling any knee workups after the supposed bitching that HBK threw after mania.

Let's just start calling it "Hollywood".

Hollywood: 1. Vince McMahon's inexplicable state of near-orgasm over Bob "Harcore" Holly.
2. A Natural reaction to seeing Molly Holly do pretty much anything.
