a few years ago HBO tried getting him and Tatum on a show, Stingly was going to do it, then he found out it was basiclly being pushed by Tatums publicst trying to push Tatums book.

Tatums an asshole, it was not just a dirty hit, but he never ever apologized and actually has gone out of his way not to, with comments like when he was asked "why didn't you visit Stingly in the hospital" and he responded "I get paid to put people into the hospital, not visit them".

I hear Tatum is not well these days, I hate to wish ill on people but have trouble in this case.

yes, Tatum was a player known for dirty hits, the hit he put on stingly was a dirty (not legal) hit and the result was Stingly being paralised

I agree about Tatum, the guy's a turd. No matter how assertive you are, in the end, is it really worth compromising another human being's livelihood just because he's "doing his job"?

What gives him further push to use that as a cop out is that fact it happened in the late 70s when pro sports were not organized very well (as if they hardly are now) and more things were allowed on an NFL turf.

Fuck Jack Tatum.
