View Full Version : It just dawned on me how much I want to see an Umaga face turn

Seriously, the guy would make a pretty cool face.

On RAW, have Vince McMahon come out and call out Umaga. Vince berates the Samoan Bulldozer for losing to Bobby Lashley last week. Vince gets right in Umaga's face, and the savage starts to get pissed off. You can maybe even have Vince slap Umaga, just because the fans would be paying more attention to whether or not Umaga was going to kill Vince. Have Estrada get in between Vince and Umaga, and then have Vince make a match for the Intercontinental Championship right there and then. Umaga's opponent...*cue The Great Khali's music*

Umaga and Khali stare in the ring against each other, and I'm sure they could plan out a match better than me, but basically, Khali is about to kill Umaga, when Estrada enters the ring and sacrifices himself. Umaga then comes off the top rope with a crossbody, and Khali can catch him or something (I'm not sure if Khali is strong enough to pull this off, but it would be a nice spot). Khali then just tosses Umaga down, and Khali stares across at Umaga, who scuttles back in fear. Hopefully the fans will be chanting "U-MA-GA!" at this stage.

Umaga then gets to his feet and yells out "For Samoa!" and then starts taking chops from Khali, but he won't go down. Khali then hits a big boot, and Umaga finally goes down. Khali goes for one of his one-foot pins, but Umagagrabs the leg of Khali, and makes his way to his feet while holding the leg of Khali. Umaga then nails Khali with a quick Samoan Spike, and Khali stumbles back into the corner. Estrada then calls out for Umaga, and points to the steps. Umaga gets out of the ring, unhinges the steps, and chucks them into the ring. He then Samoan Spikes the referee, gets the steps, and runs them into Khali, who is still in the corner. Khali then falls, and Umaga hits him with the wrecking ball. Umaga then pulls Khali into the center of the ring, then goes to the top rope and hits a Samoan Splash. To close the segment, Vince appears on the stage and stares down Umaga, with a half-smirk on his face.

At Backlash, you have Umaga vs. The Great Khali in a Street Fight for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, where Umaga retains the belt after he places the ring steps on top of the turnbuckle somehow, then climbs on top of them and hits a Splash with even more height. I think that would be a pretty nice feud for the big men, and I'm not much of a fan of either.

But yeah, regardless of whether or not you like the above scenario, do you think the savage character could make a leap over to the face side of things? Armando Estrada is pretty damn likeable, he just has a colourful and goofy personality. Umaga comes off as legitimately tough, and he can work, plus the character probably wouldn't know right from wrong. He almost has an innocence about him.

I think a face turn could actually turn Umaga into a badass version of what the WWE was looking to do with Eugene back when that character initially debuted. Create a figure the fans can sympathise with, that doesn't have the intelligence to stay out of bad situations. It's a whole lot more likeable than characters who identify bad situations, then say "Hell, I'm going to do it anyway!" It just makes them look self-destructive, and I can't then buy it when I'm meant to feel sorry for them when they get themselves into a situation they could have avoided if they used common sense.

Khali and Umaga would be mind bogglingly terrible to watch.

Yeah, I would assume so, too. But Umaga and Estrada might bump like shit, which would be pretty amusing to watch.

I have this idea where Scotty 2 Hotty and John Cena seek to turn him face through dancing...

I think Kennedy should start trying to get Khali as an ally by doing nice things, treating Khali with (false) respect ect...Kennedy plus Khali = potential. Taker versus Kennedy / Khali at Ringside.

Would kind of remind me of Million Dollar Man/Andre maybe.

Edit: You could also get a Khali face turn out of this after Kennedy starts abusing him...

Um, didn't I already suggest this?

Why does everyone now want everyone to turn so quickly after their debuts? Umaga debuted last year, he needs more time to establish himself as a heel before even considering turning him face.

The bigger the heel, the bigger the face.

Then what do you do with him as a face? Badass heels that turn face have tended to get jobbed out to up and coming more badass heels. I think his popularity could last briefly, but ultimately if he were relying on Armada to talk, would dwindle.
