Apparently "Miss Jackie" as she was known in WWE/WWF is going up against Gail Kim in a damn cage match at Lockdown.
The other messed up thing is that Team 3D is going for the tag titles against LAX in a ELECTRIFIED STEEL CAGE....
wtf is up with this gimmic crap lol
Comments please.

Lockdown is a PPV that consist entirely of cage matches, that should tell you all you need to know about the creative direction of TNA.

Yeah, I'm getting sick of hearing that too.

I dunno. One of my favourite all time cages matches between AMW and XXX happened at Lockdown... although that was a good few years ago.

Besides, Lockdown is no more a gimmick PPV than One Night Stand or December to Dismember. When compared with the latter, you at least know you'll get more than three decent wrestlers on the card and a show that lasts more than 2.25 hours.

One of the main things wrong with TNA is they always feel the need to go with these gimmick matches and go lengths to be different but not plain wrestling.

Lockdown is a pretty hot idea. It's like their Royal Rumble.

No, not when EVERY MATCH on the PPV is a cage match. The Royal Rumble is one big match. It's different.

Not really, an event relying on the back of a gimmick. Just like War Games back in the day. They just take it to the EXTREAM.

Which works for TNADD fans.

The Royal Rumble is also a PPV???

As much as I love the Royal Rumble, I wouldn't want to see every match on the PPV be a battle royal. Come on.

But people do want to see every match in cage. Again the comparison was them building an anual PPV on the back of a gimmick. It's no different than the Rumble, World War 3 (which is probably the most accurate comparison due to the other rings being an active part of the show,) or War Games. It's no different though. The same thing with different execution. And it works.

I see the comparison and I guess it does work for TNA sheep.

You think an electrified cage is bad? Compared to some other shit it's nothing. WSX aside, remember the electric chair match in WCW? Where Abdullah the Butcher was strapped in, and he started shaking like crazy and fireworks shot all over the place. Why do all these fucking federations think their "electric" match will work?

The best part was Cactus' intro, where he came down wielding a chain saw. (I'm not kidding.)

Lockdown worked in 2005. It really did. It was a success, and the matches weren't bad, either. There was the Chris Candido accident, but that was an unfortunate accident.
Last year, the show was mostly good, but there were some matches that didn't need to be in a cage, and I remember thinking that they would have been better off raising the cage for some of them. Just a few.
The people who bitch about every match being inside Six Sides of Steel are just bitching because they don't like the idea, in theory. I can guarantee most of them have not seen it in practice. TNA has actually pulled off good Lockdown events both times they've tried it.
By the way, it's not Miss Jackie facing Gail Kim, it's going to be Jackie Moore (Jacqueline in the WWE). She's a little more competent.
Am I the only one hoping that The LAX retain the NWA Tag Team Championship in their match when the Latino Nation buries under the fence surrounding the ring, and beat-down Team 3D as a group? :shifty:
I'm still waiting for Brother Ray and Devon to bring out a bunch of jobbers which they claim are their "Brothers". The Latino Nation vs. The Brothers Dudley would be a hilarious brawl.

I side with Alienoid, being that Lockdown isn't really all that bad. TNA is an easy target to rip into about stupid gimmick matches, and while the electrified cage match might be a bit retarted the rest of the show, theoretically is fine. It's just a PPV where all matches are cage matches and really it's not all that absurd or ridiculous. A cage match is not something too obscure or 'out there', and soome good matches have happened in cages.

Let's see.
Week after week, WWE gets a larger rating on two programs. Their PPV got not only the attention of wrestling fans, but also mainstream attention. In part, and mostly, because of Trump.
Yeah, I guess giving the fans what they want is great...And they can continue to do it in the micky mouse leagues. They can't seem to draw in a larger fanbase, they can't seem to please anyone but the "at least it's not WWE" crowd and the "I'll drop you for WWE given half a chance" crowd.
Meanwhile, when WWE comes up with an All HitC PPV, or a PPV where every match is a Royal Rumble, or every match is a "Money in the Bank" ladder match, we'll talk, folks. This is lame. It's bad enough when a company devalues a match by using it frequently, but this just takes that a step further.

No Way Out 2008.
Of course by that point WWE will have gotten rid of every single actual wrestler other than Cena and Lashley and replaced them with not quite A-list celebs. It will be like Celebrity Boxing...only in HELL IN THE CELL!

^Khali will still be in the WWE. Three way title unification match, Cena (WWE) vs. Khali (WHC) vs. Lashley (ECW). The match would end in a time limit draw, upon which a three-way brawl would ensue that will last all eternity.

I think if he could Cena isolated early, he could, but Cena and Lashley could double-team Khali to a stalemate.

Lashley would just be smilling and doing his hugging himself pose over in the corner, while Cena keeps running around doing one of his dozen taunts that make no sense, all the while Khali would just be scream/growling while he ate the front few rows of fans beore finally at around the 1:28 time focusing on Cena and then Lashley, as previously mentioned, both would be completely digested by 1:30.

They kinda did that a few weeks back... The Latino Nation was beating on them but then a bunch of random black guys came out and started fighting them and the announcers were all like "It's Brother Devon's Brothers! The Brothers from the streets of Brooklyn!"-"THIS IS BIZARRE!"
