View Full Version : WWE needs to steal some storylines/gimmicks from OVW

Seriously I really love a lot of OVW's stuff right now. Some of the storylines/charactes/gimmicks I absolutely love and think should be used in WWE. I'm going to go through and list them and talk about how I would use each one.

1. Mike Kruel and Milena Roucka's Pro-American Heel gimmick: Simple. They are two very pro-America people, but the thing is...they are heels. See they use their Pro-America stance as a way to get heat with the crowd. This actually caused hated heel Boris Alexiv to turn babyface. To counteract Boris, they joined forces with Mr. I Luv Duble Duble E Vladimir Kozlov. And then Kozlov taked Boris into actually joining them a few weeks later.

I love this gimmick as we see very Pro-America babyface gimmick run into the ground. And we haven't really since an over the top Pro-America gimmick before in WWE (Kurt Angle doesn't count). So here's what WWE could do with this gimmick.

When the time comes to do away with the ECW brand, move Elijah Burke back to Smackdown. Bring Milena Roucka up to Smackdown and have them join forces. Now for those of you who don't know or don't remember, Burke's tights in OVW was of the American flag. Have him break those tights back out and have him form a Pro-America stable named Elijah Enterprise.

The stable consists of Elijah Burke, Milena Roucka, Mark Henry, and La Resistance. Burke and Roucka I've already mentioned, now for Henry they can use his Olympic background and he would be the bodyguard of sorts, and La Resistance? Well simple, remember The Fabulous Rogeau Brothers? Yeah, just think of them and turn it up 110%.

Have Burke and Benoit feud for the United States Championship as their main feud. Also they can involve Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio in the storyline, Chavo gets in it when Burke calls the Guerrero family nothing more than a bunch of illegal immigrants. This would cause Chavo to stand up for the Guerrero name and Rey Mysterio backs him up. Yes, Rey still is cautious with Chavo but they stand side-by-side for a greater cause.

2. Paul "The Ripper" Burchill: When he redebuted in OVW, he was given the current Snitsky gimmick of just ripping through his opponents. But unlike Snitsky, Paul would take his time in destroying his opponents instead of ending it quickly. Burchill ended up winning the OVW title and he was given the nickname "The Ripper" loosely based off of Jack The Ripper.

What I would do is bring him to ECW with the same gimmick and build him up as a major threat to Lashley.

3. The OVW Divas: OVW's got a lot of talented divas. Serena, ODB, Victoria Crawford, Beth Phoenix, and Katie Lea are the top ones. ODB is basically beer drinking trailer trash, Victoria Crawford is trying to make ODB more "classy", and Katie Lea is the British beauty who keeps putting ODB down. Serena is a good wrestler and is pretty popular with the fans and Beth Phoenix is the selfish heel.

What I'd do is pair up Katie Lea with Burchill in ECW. She could have pretty good matches with Trinity. Or they can even stick her on Smackdown with Regal and Taylor and feud with London/Kendrick/Ashley.

ODB I would stick with Cryme Tyme if they want to use her as a babyface or Murdoch and Cade if they wanted her as a heel. She is very good in both roles. I could see her with Cryme Tyme on Smackdown to feud with Regal/Taylor/Lea.

Beth Phoenix and Serena would be good fits on Raw. They can bring in Phoenix to re-start her feud with Mickie James while Serena comes in to feud with Melina or Victoria. We could get some good tag matches with James/Serena vs. any combination of Phoenix/Melina/Vicky.

Victoria Crawford could be used in the Kristal/Teddy Long storyline. Possibly as Long's other love interest.

4. Gothic Mayhem: Johnny Punch, Pat Buck, Roni Jonah, and Melody. Basically they've got a punk band gimmick. Roni and Melody are their "groupies"

They could use the same gimmick on Smackdown with a little tweaking. Bring up Roni Jonah and have her form Gothic Mayhem with The Miz and Shannon Moore. Yeah let's laugh at that though, but they both have the look to pull it off. They can even convince Jillian Hall to join them since she's got that wannabe pop star gimmick going on. They can repackage her with black hair and piercings. They would call out Ashley as a poser and attack her which brings out London and Kendrick.
------------

Of course none of these are intended to set the World on fire, but it would be fresh and would benefit all three shows.

Wasn't Hassan Pro-USA? Technically?

Not really.

He wasn't draping himself in the American flag or threatening to call George Bush on us fans.

Kenzo Suzuki was a pro-America heel

Kenzo Suzuki was a pro-America heel

No, he wasn't Pro-America, he was two faced. He told us he loves America, but in reality he didn't.

Would definitely make more sense if John Cena was a cyborg/robot/android.

I'm going to rep you as soon as I get the chance, KoOS. :y:

I love the idea of a pro-American heel. We're not talking about a guy who is a jackass, and when he says he loves America, he's realy saying "I love myself, and exploiting this country," what they're saying is "America is a perfect place to live and we do nothing wrong!" Basically an ignorant American. For some reason, Bubba Ray Dudley's line during his feud with La Resistance springs to mind: "We hate them because they're French!"

Elijah Burke did play the patriot in OVW, but I'd rather see him continue on his own path. I like your idea of Mark Henry being the bodyguard for this stable. I think Mike Kruel and Milena Rouka could both get the call-up for it. Kruel, Henry, Rouka, Rob Conway and Sylvain Grenier? I've seen worse.

I love Burchill, and I want to see him called up as soon as possible. I think the original plan was to move him to RAW, but I feel SmackDown! is the place for him, at the moment. ECW is just a little bit cluttered. With Regal & Taylor seemingly developing a feud with Kane, it would be sweet if they brought out Burchill to tear Kane apart one edition of SmackDown!. Kane can then take his time off.

Bring in Katie Lea as their representative for a now interpromotional Women's Division, and you have yourself a nice little stable of William Regal, Dave Taylor, Paul Burchill and Katie Lea. I'd love to see a series of matches between Benoit and Burchill for the United States Championship.

Beth Phoenix needs to return to RAW, ASAP. I'd have her develop a feud with Victoria, as she was the one who caused her to get hurt in the first place. A Victoria vs. Phoenix feud would make for some nice matches. Apparently she played Chris Masters' girlfriend in OVW, or something? It might be good if they resurrected that little character detail on RAW. It provides a way for her to then turn heel and feud with Mickie James for the Women's Championship.

I think ODB would make a great heel for the Women's Division. She's not attractive, and she's bigger than most women in the division. I think she'd make a great counterpoint to a Mickie James, or a Trinity.

Serena apparently isn't under contract, for some reason which escapes me. Sign her, WWE!

I LOVE the idea of Mike Mizanin and Jillian Hall being paired together. Their gimmicks just seem to fit. Shannon Moore clicks, as well. I'm not sure if they'll call up Johnny Punch and Pat Buck, but I do like your idea of throwing Shannon Moore in there, if not. Didn't Roni Jonah play The Miz's girlfriend in OVW, anyway? Just call her up to Mizanin's side, and then have them approach Shannon Moore and Jillian Hall. You might as well call Melody up, as well. Three women for two men: Yeah, that's a heel stable.

Good ideas you had all 'round. :y:
