I didnt much like it, Shawn hits the superkick yet cant even muster the engergy or have the where how to get a shoulder up? And best of all now at Backlash we get to have a match that consists of the same thing we've been subjected to for the last year.
What bothered me the most is the way the called the finish. Sure, Shawn's shoulders were on the mat, but he was ON TOP of Orton and Orton had no body part above Michaels. When they do this finish, I prefer the arm-over-arm finish.
It was pretty shitty.
i mean if Orton had an arm across him it would have held a little bit more water, but they pretty much had him just lying on his back...which by my recollection was never a problem before.
If this was normal then surely the Rock was forever breaking his own pinfall with the People's Elbow!?
I hate stoopid finishes like that. I never really understood the " I have you in a submission move and you're lying back so the ref can count your shoulders down" rule either.
Damn you Xero Limit!!
That wasn't theere when I started posting!
Guess I should type faster!
I'll let you off cos we share the same initials:shifty:

Thats what i mean, and the official who was laid out was in no position to tell is Shawn was down for the full 3 count.
Not to mention the lack of creativity to the finish, but hey Vince must be savin the good stuff for him and Lashley

I thought Raw sucked pretty ferociously overall last night.

Niether does any of Vince's logic, he lost his mind along with a few million dollars after the XFL folded.

Orton had no leverage. Now, I can understand a draw, HBK's shoulders were down at the monent of the pinfall so he looses too. Like it cancles out his pin, seems ok. K cool. But no ref could ever claim Orton won. It was so unbeleivable. Orton had no leverage.
So gay.

They should have gone with the Bulldog/Shawn finish with the badly bridged german suplex from Michaels

Its exactly what I thought of, couldnt of been any worse re-using that finish then the one they came up with and beside it was over 7 years ago (The 7 year statute)

IF the ref was on the bottom left side of Michaels, I could see how it could be called an Orton win (he couldn't see Orton's upper body, so he COULD have had leverage). But the way they did it the ref crawled over and obviously saw BOTH sets of shoulders clearly down.

If you cant see it you cant call it.

To be technical/
Wrestling is NEVER that technical.
Every other time this finish has been used (to my knowledge), if you were the ref you'd call it a pin.

I'm not going to read what everyone posted, I'm just going to give my views on it....
To call that a Dusty Finish makes Dusty Rhodes roll in his grave, and he isn't even dead! Worst fucking call ever! HBK was on top of Orton, while Orton didn't even have an eyelash on top of HBK. It was just a bad spot and a bad call, not a Dusty finish.

I understand what they wanted to accomplish here, but you know what would have been a better way to do it? Have Edge attack Randy Orton. That gives him the disqualification victory, and some momentum heading into Backlash. You would also have Edge attack HBK. Granted, this could be ruled a Double DQ, but that really doesn't matter.
Edge can then lay out a challenge to Cena, Randy Orton gets a victory over Shawn Michaels to qualify for the title shot and Shawn Michaels reminds Cena that he said any place, any time.
A cloudy disqualification victory giving the win to either Randy Orton or causing the match to be a draw would have been a much better way to accomplish the exact same thing.

Didn't they do a similar finish within the past 2 years? Think it was Shawn again, and maybe Edge? Can't remember, but I do remember thinking it was dumb.
They could of done like a mania 8 finish with Bret and Piper, but making sure both guys shoulders were on the mat.
I like the pin/tap outs as well. Angle's and Takers was ok from a while back.
But there's no way HBK should of been pinned from that scenario

Two weeks from now you'll all forget about it. This won't end wrestling. It's a minor detail in which the ends will in time justify the means.

I guarantee you I will not watch Raw next week, not at all because of this finish. The Penguins have a playoff game against the Senators next week, You see, and Pittsburgh hasn't been in the playoffs in 6 years, and I'm sick of it. I am not sure if I do or do not like hockey more than wrestling, but there is wrestling 3 nights of every week, and playoff hockey only a few weeks of the year, which sucks. Hockey, not Wrestling, will be the best, not the worst thing to watch on cable TV next week, and that is the truth.
Also, I won't be watching RAW because I don't have cable.
God, that was more trouble than it was worth.

Absolutely. I'm rather certain it was in the midst of thew HBK/HHH feud. I was thinking to myself, 'this isn't that old, guys."

Yeah, and it's been since then that HHH tapped out to Edge and Benoit simultaneously.

The only way you could justify it is if you said that Orton had Michaels rolled up. A very lax, unconscious roll up.

JR: Bah Gawd! A lax unconscious rollup by Orton literally breaks Shawn Michaels in half!!!

Yeah that was terrible. You could see a dusty finish coming a mile away too as the ref was down for a long time, then another ref comes out for no reason and then you see the other ref moving I'm like, 'Shit, here comes a double pin" then they don't even execute very well. Seriously, the second ref wasn't even in position for anything.
