View Full Version : Money In The Bank Idea

I have thought about this, and would like to hear your thoughts on it. Ok as you all know the MITB Ladder match has several younger (usually), upper level mid-carders. Who compete to grab a briefcase with a contract giving them the right to challenge any champ at anytime within the next year. Well as you know every person who has won this match so far has won the title when they cashed in thier contract, But this is a chance that the MITB winner takes. They have to have the odds in thier favor before they cash it in, and even still there is a chance that they will not succeed.

My Idea is, that since over the past 5 years, they have not defended the IC title at Wrestlemania, they should include it in the match, along with the briefcase. And whoever climbs up has a choice.

1) The Title and a sure thing as a 2nd rung champion
2) Or a chance at the big-time, which may not happen.

What you could also do is that once they have chosen they have to take thier prize and sit out of the match for a certain amount of time (Kind of like the KOTM match in TNA). And after that time is up, they can return to try for the prize they didn't pick.

Also I was thinking of another variant to this match.

Have the IC, US, and if it happens the TV title all be defended in the MITB.
Now before you jump to conclussions calling me crazy for tying up 3 titles in one match. Hear me out.

Its money in the bank, and the 3 titles on the line. As like before, the first person up has a choice. 1 of the 3 titles, and a chance to jump ship to that respective show. Or the MITB, returning to thier normal show with a chance at the champion of any brand. This would give some people a way to get off a show and onto another.

The way this should be set up is

IC Titlist
#1 Contender

US Titlist
#1 Contender

TV Titlist
#1 Contender

Then have (2) 3-way matches for a wildcard spot with 1 person from each show.

So what happens, is that say the former IC titlist claims the US title, making the US Champion have to go to Raw unless, he claims the MITB, or the TV Title. The wildcarders if they don't win have the choice of going to any show should they not win.

What do you people think of this?

It could work I guess...don't see any problems.

Maybe it's because I'm still asleep, but I don't get what happens at the end. I could probably understand it better if I thought about it, but even if it's a great idea, that would probably make it too complex for the WWE.

I don't mind the idea of the IC Title/US Title/TV Title being defended in MITB. I actually wouldn't mind it if they hung up the Titles in separate parts of the ring. Alright, say we did it with this year's MITB competitors; Finlay was United States Champion, Jeff Hardy was Intercontinental Champion and CM Punk was Television Champion:

Mr. Kennedy climbs the ladder, and pulls down the United States Title. This makes him the new United States Champion, and he has the chance to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship whenever he wants (kind of like a SmackDown!-exclusive MITB).

Next, we see CM Punk manage to retrieve his ECW Television Championship, retaining it at WrestleMania against seven other men. Punk also earns the right to compete for the ECW World Championship whenever he wants. An ECW-exclusive MITB.

Finally, Edge climbs to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He is the new Champion, and can challenge for the WWE Title whenever he feels the desire to. A RAW-exclusive MITB.

You could take the idea further, and have Kennedy and Edge trade contracts (seeing as they don't have a name on them, as the contracts were up-for-grabs in the Ladder Match). You can then do a swerve and have Kennedy beat John Cena, and Edge beat The Undertaker.

This would make it extra exciting as each brands champion would have two threats to worry about. It could be the exclusive, or the actual MITB Winnner. If they had all 3 titles and the briefcase. Also what would be a good idea is that they have to trade in thier title (vacate it) to take thier shot at the Brand Champion. Makes it really exciting.

STOP STEALING MY THOUGHTS GODDAMN IT!

Haha, great minds.

It's an idea with potential over time, too. I mean, MITB, as much as it is a cool idea, can only be payed off in so many ways. With three chances to win with the IC, US and potential TV Title on the line, it allows you to mix things up. A wrestler could actually take two of the belts one year. Maybe even they could have someone so effective in ladder matches that they take all three? Two guys could pull down one title at the same time, which can set up a feud on their brand over said Title and the MITB title shot.

Personally I'd rather see one unified world champion and the IC and US titles meaning something as secondary titles on their respective shows.
