What a fucking match MVP and Benoit had on Smackdown. They let them go out for atleast a good 20 minutes, and they tore the house down. Way better than their Wrestlemania match IMO, and that was still pretty good. I'm loving their feud right now, I hope they face off again at Backlash, Benoit's really bought out the best in MVP. So impressed by him now.

What did you guys think of the match?

I didn't see the Smackdown match, but the WM one was really really good. I was impressed.

Its pretty much what i thought this feud would be, yet everyone was doubting MVP before. I am yet to see it in full but will watch it tonight.

That is a given, It's MVP who has impressed me.

That's because we already know Benoit can go.

I've been supportive of MVP since he debuted (as I am with anyone who debuts, really), but I do have one quasi-concern that I'd like to bring up. I'm sure it's not the case, and that MVP's skill won't suddenly leave him, but MVP is apparently a really big fan of Benoit. One of his finishing moves is a version of the Crossface which he calls Tribute To Benoit. He's obviously going to be on his game with the Rabid Wolverine, so I'm just hoping that his series with Benoit isn't going to be the best we ever see from MVP. He's too young and too new to have peaked already.

Anyway, I think the two should have a match at Backlash. This is probably unpopular opinion, but I'd actually have Benoit retain the United States Championship against MVP again there. They seem to be telling a cohesive story over their matches. MVP knows the Crippler Crossface, Benoit had to use Air Benoit; MVP learned how how to scout Air Benoit, rolled up Benoit using the ropes; Benoit learns how to reverse MVP's roll-up. I think it would make perfect sense, and allow them to either continue feuding, or to move onto other programs.

MVP would make an entertaining US Champion, I'm sure, and he's definitely proved he's worthy of holding the belt, but I don't know, it just seems really predictable at the moment. I'm just not feeling it. I think Benoit could work some matches with other newcomers (like The Miz and Paul Burchill, the latter of which I would actually have dethrone Benoit), which can help establish them as legitimate players in World Wrestling Entertainment.

I really want to see MVP bust out the Live from the 305. I don't expect him to actually hit it (the WWE would call the move "too dangerous"), but it would be a nice visual against Benoit at Backlash.

For those who don't know, the Live from the 305 is a Springboard Shooting Star Press.

I didn't particularly like the match on Smackdown, I thought it really dragged in alot of places. There match at WM on the other hand was pretty good.

MVP is my favorite new personality since Kennedy.....and before that Sean O Haire. lets hope he follows Kennedy's path.

Mvp vs Kennedy, WM 25 main Event ?

I gotta admit, MVP's really starting to grow on me, but I still can't get over how stupid his outfit looks.

That match was solid. More matches like that are really going to help MVP's stock so I hope they do the smart thing and continue to book a great feud with Benoit.

Mind you I'm not an MVP fan or anything. I'm just complimenting the guy.

Maybe it's just me, but does Kristal seem pretty damn enamoued with MVP when he talks? I wonder if that's a sign of Kristal being hypnotised by some kind of "x-factor" he has, Kristal being a good interviewer, Kristal banging him behind the scenes (and loving it) or what. It actually adds nuance to the Theodore Long storyline, too.

Just something I noticed during MVP's after-match promo on SmackDown!. I've noticed her doing this before, I think, too. I personally don't find Kristal that attractive...but she's good at subtlely hinting "Fuck me!"

I want Kristal.

Not beneficial to the post but, yep.

I was thinking yesterday how cool it might be for WWE to use a high-priced free agent type storyline. MVP might be the right guy. Have him hold out in the middle of shows for more money...and be generally all about the dollars. Maybe even make him a bit of a mercenary.

Anyway, just an idea. :y:

I love that they make him out to be the highest paid athlete in sports entertainment. I'd love to see guys like Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas and other guys with legitimate wrestling backgrounds challenge MVP, to prove they should be getting as much.

I think that would make a great storyline, as well.

It'd be pretty sweet if MVP got his own Championship made. Call it the "Player Cup", or something, and have him go on all three brands and defend it. Then have him start auctioning off the matches.

Kind of make it like the Masterlock Challenge, but when he defends the cup, give it his own set of rules to favour the Champion (him). Then when he loses the cup to a babyface, it'd be an entertaining storyline trying to see him get it back.

Great idea. I think they might actually go for it too, as there is alot of hatred toward overpaid atheletes these days. :y:
