From what I understand consists of:

World Heavyweight Championship—Last Man Standing
The Undertaker v. Batista

WWE Championship—Fatal Four Way
John Cena v. Shawn Michaels v. Randy Orton v. Edge

ECW World Championship—Handicapped Match
Bobby Lashley v. Umaga, Vince McMahon & Shane McMahon

WWE Women’s Championship
Melina v. Mickie James

World Tag Team Championship
The Hardy Boyz v. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch

Is it just me, or does that not sound better than the WM card?

I mean, they should've used this card at WM, and added in a MITB match featuring Ken Kennedy, Booker, Finlay, Carlito, Ric Flair, CM Punk & maybe Kane or someone, and then left the Chris Benoit vs. MVP match for those that enjoyed it. This would've been a better card, IMO.

ALSO, they could've even used the Lashley match as a 6-man tag team bout, with The McMahons and Umaga vs. Lashley, Donald Trump and his special enforcer, Stone Cold Steve Austin. And let Donald sit on the apron until the end, get involved with some moves on Vince and / or Shane and then call it a night. Just an opinion.

Honestly, I hope that they continue booking Cade and Murdoch the way they are. I doubt they win at Backlash, but I hope after that PPV they aren't completely forgotten.

But to answer your question, yes it does sound better than the WM card, especially if they gave each match a good amount of time to really tell a story.

Ah, but you're missing a very important point. That would make sense. And in the WWE nothing can make sense. Or else it's "predictable!"

It's MIND GAMES...

Only the World Title matches look better, but the Taker WM match didn't NEED a gimmick, as tuning in to see if he lost his streak was enough.

My dream match for Backlash would be Benoit vs. MVP, 2 out of 3 falls match for the US Title.

Backlash is looking good. I admit I might actually watch this.

It's not better than WM card, though I did think the WM card was thin this year. It only had 8 matches and lacked a tag match, or that annual dream match that gets promoted. Other than that it was very strong with 3 big main events, one of them which was a massive cross promotion.

I was thinking about something else the other day however. The past 2 Summerslam cards have been, on paper, stronger than the past 2 wrestlemania cards.
However the past 2 summerslams have went off pretty shitty and the past 2 wrestlemanias were just fine.

^ You're forgetting they had the ECW match as the tag team match. I don't blame you for forgetting though.

Know I knew that, but it was just a 8 man clusterfuck. I meant the lack of a tag title defense.

I'm hoping to see a L&K rematch with D&D if indeed, L&K did lose the WWE Tag belts this week, without any weirdness...and by weirdness I mean we've got a Fatal-4-Way title match, a 3-on-1 whoever pins Lashley IF they pin Lashley, is the new ECW Champion match, a Last Man Standing Match (which IMHO, actually shouldn't, but doesn't mean it won't, be too horrible of a match...) I guess if they tossed in a IC title match, like an Open Challenge or something, maybe a "Benoit v. M.V.P. II" match for the U.S. Championship, and a Cruiserweight Title match (Chavo v. don't care who, maybe Jimmy Wang Yang:?: Just a thought--don't kill me, FFS, I already said I don't care who...) and I'd be satisfied, but any of what I want out of Backlash probably gives a 1/2-shit to WWE or any of you guys, just thought I'd throw in my 2˘.

Chris Benoit vs. MVP will probably be added to the card. No frills, just some good storytelling. Hopefully Benoit retains. There, I said it. It seems logical to me. MVP counters Crossface, Benoit uses Air Benoit, MVP counters Air Benoit, Benoit comes up with a new way to beat MVP. I don't think Porter needs the US Title, and Benoit can then drop the belt to someone like Paul Burchill, or even Mike Mizanin.

They'll probably have ECW involved somewhere. I can see RVD facing CM Punk. Although I have my doubts about Punk really being with the New Breed, one can dream. Punk should go over here when Elijah Burke helps him out.

Mickie James should win her third Women's Title from Melina. I like Melina, think she's a good in-ring talent, and she's a great heel manager, but I think Mickie James winning here is the logical direction to go. Hopefully a feud with Jillian Hall would follow.

The Hardys facing Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch is something I really want to see. I think it is too early to switch the belts, but I think Cade & Murdoch deserve a good shake. I think a disqualification win for The Hardys would be nice here. Have Cade & Murdoch maybe whip out ladders or tables, setting up a gimmick match for Judgment Day.

I'm predicting an Intercontinental Title Match between Santino Marella and Johnny Nitro. Marella should retain, and get some steam into his reign. This should be a fun little match.

The Handicap Match has me uninterested. Bobby Lashley will retain. Umaga or Shane McMahon should win. Out of all the heels, Vince has the best chance. In other words, I feel this thing is really going to go wrong.

The Last Man Standing Match will be OK. I think the WWE are pushing their luck, though. Batista was inspired by WrestleMania, and expectations were low. I wouldn't expect lightning to strike twice. I'm thinking Mark Henry might come out and cause a Draw, which leads to Mark Henry Main Event Push #4.

The Fatal Fourway actually has me intrigued. They should have run this match at WrestleMania, I think. Edge going over would be the best move, however I'm beginning to see Shawn Michaels taking it. I certainly wouldn't complain. John Cena really shouldn't win, which he probably will, which will burn my interest in the RAW brand, again.

I'd love to see Mr. Kennedy run out just after Shawn Michaels has won the WWE Championship, and cash in his MITB title shot. Kennedy defeats Michaels to become the new WWE Champion, cutting Shawn Michaels' first WWE Title reign in nine years down to minutes. This would lead to a pretty nice feud between Mr. Kennedy and HBK.

There's no such thing as a proper ecw match anymore.

Looking at ECW, I really think that Rob Van Dam vs. CM Punk in a Steel Cage Match should be added.

Next week, the logical thing to do would be to have Elijah Burke suspect Punk of secretly working of the ECW Originals. So what would be the best way to weed Punk out? Stick him in a dangerous one-on-one match with an ECW Original.

Of course, this won't likely happen, because Punk will deceive the New Breed long past the point of believability. I just want to see the WWE make the New Breed clever and admirable in their own right.

weed

Nice pun.

:D Thanks.

Believe it or not, that was intended. I was originally going to have Elijah Burke hold a conference, and have either Burke or Striker use the phrase "weed him out" and then have Marcus Cor Von go "Yeah, weed him out is right."

Dude, I agree with most things that you say on here, but the Miz should never be U.S Champion.

I know he's not liked, but I feel The Miz gets way too much shit. He's not the Second Coming or anything, but he's decent.

I agree, though. The Miz should not de-throne Benoit. I only listed him because he's probably more likely than Paul Burchill to do it in today's WWE environment.

Hopefully they try and squeeze nine matches on the card.
