I'm telling you different.
:shifty:
Who or what is atmosphere? I won't speak poorly of someone I've never heard.

Atmosphere is a group out of Minnesota consisting of Slug (the MC) and Ant (the producer). It's the most down to earth rap you ever want to hear in your life.

And it's not like they're just a MySpace group or anything. You'll find clips of them on The Jimmy Kimmel Show there. I heard one song then I went and bought everything available.

I recommend "Say Hey There" as a great starting point for catching the general gist of it all whilst remaining somewhat current.

OK, "Say Hey There" isn't one of the songs now, but you can still see the video for it on the page. All of the songs are good, though. Every. Single. One.

I just started getting into Atmosphere a little while back. I've got "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having" and "God Loves Ugly." Definitley impressed with what they have to offer.

Two great ones, there. You need to get The Lucy Ford LP. Love it to death. Also, Seven's Travels is great. IT'S ALL GREAT.

Atmosphere is just a ten letter word
Discretion is the name of my cement feathered bird

Doesn't take much, and that's messed up
Because these people do a lot of simple shit to impress us
While everyone was trying to outdo the last man
I was just a ghost trying to catch some Miss Pac Man
Hello ma'am, would you be interested
In some sexual positions and emotional investments?
See, I'm not insane, in fact I'm kinda rational
When I be asking ya'll, where did all the passion go?
:y:
Feel free to share your favorite Atmosphere lyrics here as well.

You look like you were built for me
You talk like you wanna steal my drink
You kiss like you already came
And that's a lifter puller line for those without any game
It's like 'damn baby'
You know you can't save me
But you should still tell your people that you're leaving with the band
Maybe you could show me your hustle
Neither one of us'll be so lonely if only you would come over here and hold me
I caught you trying to hide your smile behind your glass
But all of your secrets become a swingset when you laugh
And all of the regrets that you're carrying and burying
Don't mean a damn thing if there's nobody to share them with
I have a friend who's really into them. I think he's seen them live.

I have a friend who has seen them live too, said it was insane.
If you guys like Atmosphere you should check out Brother Ali. I made a thread about him earlier. I'm pretty sure Slug (the MC of Atmosphere) has done work with Brother Ali, and I think Ant (the producer of Atmosphere) lays beats for Brother Ali. So if you dig the sound of Atmosphere you probably will enjoy Brother Ali.
BTW, this is Brother Ali:

And some of ya'll even share the same names
So fuck you and your lies baby, show no shame
