View Full Version : The WWE Doesn't Really Have Three Brands...

It has three leagues. Like how in baseball, there's the National League and the American League. For the most part, AL teams don't play NL teams except in the World Series. But there are interleague games several times in the year.

It's the same thing with WWE shows, especially now that PPV's are interbrand. SD, RAW, and ECW wrestlers generally don't interact with each other, except on certain special occasions. RAW is like the AL, SD is the NL, and ECW is quadruple-A.

I know this is pretty obvious, but I've never heard anyone put it this way, so I figured I'd just post this (if someone did use the term "league" before, I missed it; apologies). I think if people start looking at the WWE that way, they won't get frustrated that they're not ending the "brand split," because they're not really brands.

Thats a great point actually, although im sure the pay is the same for ECW so it would not be AAA, OVW is WWE's Triple A, its supposed to be more like "American League" = Raw, "National Leauge = Smackdown!", and "Extreme League" = ECW, but that is obviously agrguable.

Okay, and it's been a while since I watched baseball, but don't they actually keep the inter-league competition to a short stretch midseason, aside from the World Series?

Maybe I'm wrong, because to be honest, I don't rightly give a fuck about the structure. But in any sense, MLB actually makes a distinction and makes it work.

A league entails a ranking system of each brand containing every superstar. Therefore WWE has no leagues.

And don't say Power 25.

I watched the episode of Raw where they had the first draft last night, and those were pretty exciting times.

The novelty of the brand split has since worn off, but instead of officially ending it WWE are just choosing to let it slowly disappear into 'I Still Remember' land.

I thought you meant leagues as in Raw = Majors, SmackDown! = Minors, and ECW = PeeWee

It wouldn't have worn off if they had lived up.
