I'm sorry, but that match should have been WrestleMania's match. Like, they knew that they had to put on a GOOD rematch b/c the match just happened but damn...One of my homegirls (who always jokes on me b/c i watch it) was even in the match as much as i was. When Michaels kicked out of the F-U, she was going crazy. Though there were many headlocks, it brought that "realness" back for about 40 min. cuz you never knew who was going to win. Kind of mad that the RAW thread wasn't as long though..that match was a MOTY candidate :y:

So this is now the second "rematch that should have been the WM match."

Damn you, WWE, don't you see that we WANT to like you?!

I wasn't a huge fan of the match. It did get better as it went on. But they could've done more with the show than having 40 minutes eaten up by a damn non title rematch. I like the idea of what they did. Try to make it look like Cena can wrestle. But I didn't feel it flowed to well.

I thought it was pretty boring tbh

I feel asleep 10 minutes in...not because the match was boring, but because I was laying on my couch and whenever that happens I fall asleep easily. Kinda pissed I missed it though.

That match totally rocked the place. I was shocked that thing went damn near an hour though.

I remember me and my friend wondering about Edge and Orton. I know I wasn't crazy when I saw the graphic for them announcing that match, right?

tbh, I was expecting the usual dq finish due to interference with all four participants brawling. I'm surprised, really.

I gotta admit I was waiting for Edge or Orton to run in. I was waiting for a crappy ending that would make me think "Wow, that could have been so much better." Instead I was marking out for the last half of the match. It was insane! For a moment in time it was still real to me, damnit.
Totally marked out for the finish. Superkick then falling on top of Cena, Nice!

The finish was definately the best part, seeing Cena get the superkick in the face like that was good to watch.

I just got hype when Michaels kicked out of the F-U. I thought to myself "Michales has GOT to win this now". Nice finish...they should have shook hands then.

<font color=white>Not seen it personally. Just wondering if people would be saying the same stuff if HBK hadn't gone over clean?

Of course not. Everyone would've been decrying Cena for beating yet another wrestler despite being someone he's already beaten, 41, and a 4 time World Champion and how he needs to turn heel or his ability to make the continent of Asia tap out.

CSL raises a good point - The Mania match was excellent in that it built and built to a fantastic crescendo, much like the rematch, the difference being the match length. This felt more "epic" because it was a longer match that delivered better than the majority of longer matches (I'll take this over Punk/Joe 2, and I loved that match) tend to do. Only difference was pacing and the fact that Shawn Michaels won this one.

Cena needed this loss because it brings back some type of unpredictablility to RAW. A great match though at the end.

This was the MOTY so far. Awesome match, It was so fucking old school.

Sadly it's only a MOTY candidate because wrestling has been dulled and dumbed down. A few years ago it'd get lost in the shuffle.

Yeh, back in the glory days of Billy Gunn - King of The Ring, and Big Show - WWF Champion, this match wouldn't even be considered a decent opener to those guys tearing it down.

Well it looks like another topics I would have loved to discuss but came in too late and my opinions already stated, though I'll try to say some original stuff.

First, another website mentioned this and I agree...this isn't a MOTY candidate. I was good, but still not something worthy of MOTY. I think MITB at Wrestlemania already beats it there (and don't give me the "spot fest" bullshit...it had me marking out all over the place).

Second, someone in this thread mentioned they wanted to see them shake hands in the end. Over at StormWrestling.com, Lance Storm even mentioned that for this match he wished HBK and Cena would show respect at the end, and was has lost respect for HBK for the crotch chop to Cena after the match. Quite frankly, I liked that ending. Don't blow over the feud because both men placed on a good match together. Having HBK taking the belt again while in the position he was in receiving the belt at WM12, then placing the belt to give Cena the "suck it...I beat you once and next time I'm taking the belt" makes me want to see Backlash now. Suprises me that a man who constantly talks about what brings in wrestling fans couldn't see that.
