View Full Version : I'm liking ECW as of late
Well more specifically, I like the whole Originals vs. New Breed angle.
The feud is nice, has produced some good matches, and the storyline with Punk causing disorder in The New Breed.
The Lashley shit though...well it's shit. All I got to say on that one, and wish the ECW title was in a more interesting feud or battled around better wrestlers.
Also seeing Balls Mahoney every now and again, even against a dusch like Snitsky, is nice.

I truly believe it's pound for pound the best wrestling program on tv right now. Of course I watch Raw more regularly, and it's probably better but for a 1 hour show ECW is doing pretty well.
I hate to say it, but it's actually gone from sucking to being pretty decent.

ECW has consistantly been the best wrestling program since it's conception, fuck the nay sayers.

I'm diggin the New Breed/Originals stuff and now I'm especially digging the Punk/Burke tension and the possible power struggle.
Also glad to see Punk getting a push into something meaningful, but apparently some would be happier if he was just not talking and going over Holly and Richards every week instead of being "poorly booked".
It's really some great stuff, plus the show has a good pool of workers. For a 1 hour show they put on a couple good matches a week, which is more than Impact can say. Even Raw and SD don't seem to USUALLY put on good tv matches consistently.
ECW puts to rest the notion that Impact sucks because it has 1 hour. Granted they have 12 ppvs a year and a bigger talent pool to promote, but I'm not sure whether to consider that a strength or an asset to their ability to put on a good 1hr show each week.
Either way ECW is better, at least TV wise.

Yeah, but he jumped through the cage.

A little ashamed to say this but I was kinda lookin forward to seeing what happens with CM Punk etc, hoping Stevie Richards would join the originals.
I thought they should get rid of big show cause you cant do much new with him, but it'd be good to get Heyman back - ok his ppv sucked but when you're told to make show and lashley into champions thats whats gonna happen

This is the first time I've seen stable wars in ages, which is probably why I'm enjoying it.

I think he meant "douche" and just misspelt it.

Balls Mahoney hasn't landed an offensive move in months.
Also, rofl at the fact that the ECW originals formed a stable and Balls Mahoney and Stevie Richards have been completely left out.
Mahoney was in it at first, and just dissapeared.

I think they should have held off on the Punk/Burke fued and kept the whole New Breed together a little longer and had Tazz join the originals to make it even for one night. That would have been pretty good.

I would like ECW more if Lashley mysteriously disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

Haven't watched ECW in a while, but this sounds rather intreging...
...and we're expressing a appreciation for it....
...which basically means....
...look for Vince McMahon to fuck it up somehow within the MONTH!!

yeah, i'm really enjoying ECW.
I loved the cheers that CM Punk got this week @ the end of the show. Would love Balls Mahoney to go into the originals tho, and stevie too, and maybe have lashley join the new breed.
I like this whole New breed VS Originals because neither are playing heels or faces esspeically. Its almost up to the viewers choiceas to who they want to cheer
I know a lot of folks on the internet like Punk, and I do too, but I truly believe that Elijah Burke will one day be a world champion.

being a world champion means next to nothing now that there's 3 belts.

I think 3 belts is fine in one promotion
World Champ
TV / Intercontinental / United States champ
X Division / Cruiserweight (though it seems there's no point in the WWE for this belt).
But as WWE runs as 3 diff orgs, there's no point, and it aint like ECW is doing anything special right now. so one belt there is enough, but RAW / Smackdown seem to be light on talent. I mean, u see more variations of wrestlers on bloody WWE Heat.

I have no problems with Championships, as long as they capture my imagination. My imagination is easy to capture, as well. I like concepts such as an U-30 Championship, Openweight Championship, etc.
I think ECW should be pushing for two-hours, or at least airing a show on ECW.com. There is enough talent to really pad it out some more, and provide for some great matches. Nunzio and Stevie Richards are criminally misused by the WWE, and The Major Brothers could use some exposure. There are some guys on SmackDown! that don't get enough air time with the SD! brand only having two hours instead of three a week, so moving some talent over to ECW, and perhaps having the Cruiserweight Title defended between both brands could be a lot of fun.
Elijah Burke still rules the world.
