The worst game I ever played was Atomic Bomberman for N64. Played the PC game and loved it, got it for N64 and I wanted to cry.

So, what's the worst game you played?

Sadly actually played Superman 64, one of my friends bought it so played it at his house.

So that makes it the WORST of all time?

I mean, sure, I get it's not your cup of tea, but if you were on a desert island with only that and the ET game (for example), you'd play the ET game?

Requiem

Yeah, it is hardly the worst game of all time. I wouldn't even give WoW that title, and I hate WoW with a passion. I hate it more than any MMO I've ever played, but it's still not the worst game ever.

Hmm... I'd have to give more thought on this, but on the top of my head I'd say Burger Time for the NES.

Apparently ET for the Atari is possibly the worst game of all time. I've also heard that it was somewhat responsible for a video game crash in the early 80s. I've never played it, but it must be that bad if it always tops every list of "worst video game ever"

The topic asked for the worst game I've ever played, I've never played ET and I haven't disliked a game as much as I did EVE.

Let's start with how it's just a dumb-downed grindfest. It's an easier, less complex version of Everquest, where the goal is to dedicate X hours of time per week raiding with your guild so you can get X piece of gear that you've wanted for weeks. Your character at 60 is the exact same as the next character of that class who is on that same tier of gear as you. If you're not one of those people lucky enough to go on high end raids (which require at the very least the lower tier of gear to get anyways), then you are forever gimped against people who -can- get that higher end gear.

Follow that up with the worst player community of any true MMO to date (You can't deny this if you've played any other big MMO. The immature kids that played WoW made it impossible to feel 'connected' to the server you played on. And the fact that PvP in the game was nothing more than a different grind; IE - It was nothing more than a different grind. In PvE you grinded instances for high-end gear. In PvP you grind the same battlegrounds over and over for gear. The PvP wasn't even fun. It was mostly imbalanced between the classes, and didn't require nearly enough player skill so much as better gear. Basically, once you got past the basics of the game, it was a piece of cake.

There are many better games. 2007 and most likely 2008 are going to be the years for MMOs. So many games coming out that at least one of them has to be good. I already know I will be playing Pirates of the Burning Sea when it releases later this year.

Not sure if it's the worst of all time, but Superman 64 is the worst one I've ever played.

And while I'm thinking about it, why is it that none of the DC Heroes can ever get a good game? Just about every Superman or Batman game has been abysmal, and the Aquaman game was a total joke. Justice League Heroes and Superman Returns were both decent at best. Meanwhile, Marvel keeps knocking them out of the park with kickass stuff. What's the deal?

Another bad game, Power Rangers for SEGA CD. The game plays a video from the show, it looks terrible btw. YouTube could play a video better. During the video, random buttons would come on screen which you'd have to press. If you missed a button, it wouldn't have any effect on the video. Instead just has some life meter on top. Note, I only played the first 5 minutes of this game before I turned it off. It came with my ebay purchase of a sega (with CD) and Dreamcast

Ok so which MMO do you like then? Seems to me that every MMO I have ever played is what you described. Now about the community, yes thats true. The game happens to have an UI that makes it easy to play for everyone, so a lot of age groups play it. I disagree about the pvp though. Whenever I pvp, I just go in and pvp. Not much thought to it, and I dont feel it is a grind. Its like playing a game of starcraft or warcraft 3. Except I am just 1 unit. Its true that most of the game can be considered "grinding", but so is every other MMO every made in existence. Your sole purpose is to make your character better, usually through loot or rewards. Most MMO's lack a general storyline. I would have to ask you if you have played the Burning Crusade, because a lot of what you said I think was helped with that expansion.

On the topic of future MMO's, I am currently waiting for Age of Conan to come out. I probably wont play the LOTR one. I saw some screen's of the pirate game you are talking about; it looks cool, but I am not sure if I will play it or not.

Wayne Gretzky Hockey for the NES. I saw Gretzky on it when I was younger, asked my parents to buy it and all I got was a game where the buttons didn't even work most of the time. It took away everything that's fun in hockey: speed, players agility, good fights and sweet goals.

I feel weird defending Moonwalker, but it was one of the first successful movie to video game translations, and one of the first games to have licensed popular songs playing in the background (albeit in MIDI format).

Although I've never played it, ET is definitely hailed as one of the worst games of all time. But I wouldn't say Atari games were really the most top quality games either. Pacman on Atari was pretty abysmal too.

As for something more recent that has no right being as bad as it is, Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing is definitely one of the worst games ever. If you have never seen the video of someone spinning the car around to blazingly fast speeds only to have it stop immediately at the release of the key press, I suggest you watch it. Practically any Big Rigs video is fun to watch.

I have played ET. At length. When it was reasonably new. I successfully beat it. Once.

So far as I know, by the time it was made, the video game industry was already on a steep decline, and Atari somehow thought that shelling out a lot of money for a video game about a popular movie would save them and their precious consoles. Sadly, it got rushed, and so we have one of the worst games ever made, and you probably can't name anything Atari made for about a decade after.

Edit: Reminds me of David Arquette, now that I think of it.

Man, after I playe dthe origional I was well pleased. And when I went out and got ht esequel you could imagine my dissapointment. It should've had a different title, because it wasn't a Zelda game. You promise me brownies and you give me Oreos and I'm gonna be pissed. And that DOES make it terrible.

Agreed, personally I never got into it. Not my cup of tea, but still can recognize that it was a good game.

As for imperfects, that is where I had most of my fun with multiplayer playing with friends. It wasn't best fighter game, I know that. But I never followed all the Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter games and never knew the characters. At least with Imperfects you know the superheros, and some of the Imperfects were pretty badass. Although I'm still confused why they made up their own villains for the game and didn't go with say real big named ones (Dr. Doom, Magneto, etc. etc.)

I forget what this game is called, but it's for xbox and I bought it for 10 bucks. It was some racing game, I think every car was a Dodge, and it was just brutal. Like, you didn't even get any damage when you crashed...retardedly boring.

I PLAYED ET when I was younger (and didn't know better). There is a REASON why they buried those carts.

American Gladiators for SNES! Loved the show, HATED THE GAME!! Pressing A button until your arm falls off just to have your ASS handed to you is NOT fun, believe me.

Back To The Future for NES! My fucking GOD, was that a BITCH to get through, and get this, the ending SUCKED ASS! You played and played and broke your controller to see a black screen with THREE WHOLE LINES OF TEXT as your ending. My GOD, why did I BUY that? Maybe because my stepbro wanted to see if anyone could BEAT it. I did, and FUCK!

Oh, and while I didn't play it, according to the Angry Video Game Nerd, Dr. Jeckel And Mr. Hyde for NES is one of the WORST: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M_4Yqk65f8 (he disabled the embedding of the video for some weird reason).
