First off, what was Hogan doing in WCW between his "Tower of Doom" match at Uncensored in March and his heel turn at Bash at the Beach '96 in July? he didn't appear at Slamboree(in April) or The Great American Bash(in June) of that year. Did he just take some time off with no storyline explanation or was he written out of the storylines somehow?
Also, at Slamboree 1996, DDP won the Leathal Lottery Battle Royal to recieve a title shot at The Great American Bash. Yet, The Giant ended up defending the WCW Title against Lex Luger at the GAB. Why didn't Page get his title shot?

yea, WCW just completely dropped the Page thing.
Hogan took some time off. I don't remember if they explained it. That 2 month period is blank for me.

I could've sworn Page lost the title shot, along with pretty much everything else he had going for him at the time, as there was a storyline where he was losing everything, even Kimberly, to "The Booty Man". :D

There was no explanation for the Hogan thing. Just time he took off due to NBA Playoffs.

And I could be wrong on this, but I'm sure he needed to film a movie also.

IIRC, Pepsi is correct about Page's angle with Beefcake, originally set to be Johnny B. Badd, who left for WWF. Page lost and became "homeless" before returning to WCW to begin his climb to the top.
I remember an angle on Nitro when, as Skee-a-vone and Zybysko were opening the show, DDP gate crash, complained that some stole his ring, and wanted the crowd "strip searched". I understand this info helps no-one, but I was amazed I conjured this up, so I felt I needed to make it public record.

Then there was the whole story about the "mysterious benefactor".

Yep.
Though it was never explained who the benefactor was, the real person who was behind it was Kimberly. That was the angle. That all along, Kimberly, The Diamond Doll / Booty Girl, was the one with the money that DDP was flashing to everyone.
Good stuff, I loved Page's work through his entire career :y:
