In an unplanned series of events, Mickie James won and then lost the Women's Title at a house show in France yesterday. What happened was, Mickie covered Victoria during the three-way and Victoria forgot to kick out, so the ref counted three. They rushed into a scenario to do a Mickie vs. Melina rematch, and Melina won the belt back.

WWE house show report 4-24 Paris featuring a title change that wasn't supposed to happen

by Celian Varini

WWE Raw house show
tuesday, april 24th 2007 in Paris, France at the Zenith.

It was the first WWE show in France in 14 years and the crowd was just insane. They fed us an atrocious card and we ate it up like madmen. I've been in WWE shows in pretty much every European city, and this one and Brussels last year take the cake in crowd insanity. They cheered for everything, even stuff they have no clue about since we have a 6 weeks delay with WWE programming over here. I'd say around 4500 / 5000 people, almost a full house.

- Maria came out and did the ring announcing. She was quickly interrupted by the Coach, who was then interrupted by Santino Marella. I was first row and couldn't understand a word they said. Horrible sound system, which is sad since the Zenith is primarly a concert hall.

1) WWE IC champion, Santino Marella beat The Coach in a very quick match. Santino took the mike and actually spoke in French with an almost perfect accent.

2) The World's Greatest Tag Team beat Val Venis & Dan Rodman. Shelton & Haas were insanely over. They started out as heels but had to change after a few minutes, so most of the match was worked with Venis & Rodman as heels. After the match, Venis & Rodman fought and Rodman left Venis lying.

3) Eugene beat Chris Masters

4) Carlito beat Johnny Nitro with the Back Cracker.

** There was a 15 mn break **

5) Mickie James beat WWE Women's champion, Melina and Victoria in a Triple Threat match, by pinning Victoria to capture the title. The Coach replaced Maria on the announcing around that time too.

6) Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch beat Cryme Tyme. Cryme Tyme were over and Shad even said some stuff in french to pop the crowd.

7) Ric Flair beat Kenny Dykstra with the Figure 4 Leglock. Flair got one of the top 3 pops of the night. He took the mike and said something about "Hartford, Conn". Him and the Coach laughed like crazy but no one understood what he said because of the sound system.

8) Melina beat WWE Women's champion, Mickie James with her feet on the ropes in just a couple minutes to regain her title.

9) WWE champion, John Cena beat Edge with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat as special ref.

Show lasted 2h08 mn, and had a 15 mn break. People couldn't believe it was over and chanted "HBK" for approx. 5mn. A french speaker actually had to take the mike and order us out. During that time some geek came on the ring and started bouncing around, no security guys reacted except one WWE staff guy who sled into the ring and actually Choked the guy out. The guy left trying to look like a hero, but you could see his neck was in a rough shape. Dweed.
They're coming back in september with a SD house show in Bercy, which can seat up to 16.000 people. The first few rows are priced at 120 euros (approx. 150 bucks)

How can Victoria forget to kick out?

Has she been so use to jobbing that she forgot how to actually kick out before a three count?

She probably forgot who was on top of her. Slut. :shifty:

Also, the referee should have known not to count the third one.
The bell ringer should have known not to ring the bell.
The ring announcer should have known not to make the announcement.
How do we know that this was unplanned anyways? Maybe it was just a way to wind up people that don't get to see live shows often.

So the ref should've just randomly turned heel in the match by not counting the three?

And besides when they do title changes like that, they usually wait until the next house show before they give the original title holder the belt back.

No, he should have just thrown up his hands and overreacted as if Victoria had pulled her shoulder up a millimeter from the mat with a hundredth of a second left. It happens rather a lot if you really pay attention.

They alienated enough of the fans in the States, no need to alienate the foreign market too.

They're French, they probably didn't even know what number he was on.

At least they're acknowledging it. This reminds me of a similar but not quite the same incident in WCW when they said Evan Karagias(I think) won the Cruiserweight title at a house show even though he never wrestled at the house show. I think it was because the current Cruiserweight champ was fired but they could have done better than to just make up a lie.

No, I think they fired Lenny Lane and then gave it to Psicosis without any reason.

Oh, you're right. They had to pull Lenny and Lodi from TV because of TBS and they said he won it at a house show when they didn't even wrestle at a house show.

They acknowledge her title reign in the "History of The Women's Championship", but her third (and accidental) reign has yet to be updated to her "Full Title History" page....Got a feeling WWE just accidentally spoiled what may be to come in the Women's title match this Sunday, but I hope not. I mean I do want to see Mickie come away with the gold, no doubt, but I hope it's not a 2-minute garbage match or anything...
