I don't know about most overrated, but Stairway is so overplayed I can't listen to it anymore.
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
I mean come on, its shit, the band even admitted they wrote it in 5 minutes as filler

The only bad thing about Paranoid is Ozzy. The Stone Coyotes version is pretty awesome.
Then again, almost anything Sabbath did was overrated (because it was Sabbath, and people would hype it as the second effing coming....), so you're probably still right. But shit? Naw.

Don't let my uncle hear you say anything about KISS; he is one of the biggest KISS fans out there. I do like some of their stuff.
The Crue, however, is one of my favs, so that is something I will rate rather highly.

Motley Crue is terrible, but Kiss is in a (horribly overrated) league of their own.

They shoulda stopped after like the 5th or 6th album really. I love them for the riffage mainly, never been a fan of Ozzy's vox

I hate Ozzy's voice, hate Dio's voice, love Iommi and the rest of the crew. In fact, Iommi and Iommi/Hughes: Fused > Sabbath. For a couple of reasons:
Ozzy appears on one track. Only
Brian Fucking May (On Iommi)
Peter Steele (On Iommi)
Henry Rollins (Again)
Dopamine is a fucking awesome track. There's a bit of generic metal cheese on the records, butthey're fucking good. That and Iommi is pretty diverse because of the folks he's working with. Skin, Dave Grohl, Peter Steele, Rollins, The guy from System of a Down, etc.

Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit. I can't think of a more overrated song.
Really though, you can't have an overrated song because the simple fact is, people like what they like and have different tastes in music. When it comes down to music, most people don't really care what level of musicianship or technical skill went into the song, because if they did, no one would listen to rap :naughty:

Your nomination just won. PERIOD.
The thing is, though, no band ever is worth the hype some songs and bands get. Nirvana is one, though that's largely because the biggest favor Cobain could do us happened to be the one that would cement their status.
But there are others.

Unfortunatly, some people go so overboard at not liking some things that people think that they should thing someone should be viewed as less of a person if they like something mainstream, or people think that they will be looked down upon when they like something that many people think are "sell-outs" or whatnot.

Which is exactly the thing. I'm sure somewhere out there, is the worst song in existence, and it still sounds better live...
