...That Kennedy will still even be with the company at Mania next year, let alone be main eventing?

Pretty good (not the main eventing part).

announcing a date was pretty cool...but now what happens if they hold off all this time and then he gets injured around Mania time...

A Mark Henry return, a big push then a yr long injury.

I highly doubt they're gonna hold off until WrestleMania. Granted it's a lot of time to give him so he can develop but it's also a lot of time for people to second guess themselves.

would of been great if he would of came out at the end of Kahli beat down Cena and pinned him right there...

Swerve the fans...

Yeah that would have been funny.

I kinda don't believe Kennedy I think he will come out when somebody is beat down and pin them to win the title.

^^ Would have been classic. Although two "major" title changes in two days would have been like a first time ever.

I love the idea of Kennedy waiting until next years Mania, mainly because he can basically hang around the main event for the next year keeping an eye on the competition, my main concern is that the bookers might just job him out for a while now until November as he'll have nothing important to work towards. I can't think of the last time we've seen this kind of long term booking, which is why I don't think it will come off.

What would be interesting is seeing who wins the rumble and then if both guys want the same title shot at mania, that could be interesting.

I thought Kennedy was on Smackdo-

Oh fucking nevermind.

I have a bad feeling that Kennedy is going to lose when he cashes in :(

If he gets injured, the WWE will just pretend like the MITB never existed.

I absolutely see Kennedy getting stuck in a triple threat at mania. Cena will be feuding with Random Guy and Random Guy wins the Rumble to go for Cena's belt. Kennedy says "But I already said I'm doing it!" Random Guy says "Well, I'm all outta damn -- when I get some, I'll send it your way."

Thus, enter the new stakes set for Mania.

I would love to see them really doing it at Mania (I think it's just to throw us off). That way, Kennedy wins the title, then the MITB winner from earlier in the night cashes in and beats Kennedy.

Not the ideal run for Kennedy, but it would make for a pretty good storyline.

Just thought that it would probably wind up being Cena.

Cluster fuck. :D

I doubt it's legit, but there was a split second I thought they might be planning longterm.

And in that split second, I thought of all the things that could go wrong, and most of them involved The ADHD...I mean, Booking team.

I would bet he does it before 'Mania to "swerve" us. I could see him coming down for commentary during a title match at the Rumble maybe, to "scout" who he will be facing at Wrestlemania, only to then say he's had a change of heart after the match ends and then run in the ring and win the title.

If he gets injured, they can always just put the breifcase up in a match between two other contenders just to protect the sanctity of MITB. Hell, even do a MITB outside of 'Mania to replace Kennedy. Hell, even do an injury angle where they do that, then Kennedy is fine before 'Mania, and demands his breifcase back. Tons of potential.

Kennedy wins the Royal Rumble. He goes on to beat the World Heavywieght Champion. Whoever wins the MITB at earlier in the night cashes it in and beats Kennedy, then Kennedy cashes his in and rolls up that guy and wins the title back.

I mean, he's basically using it on the very last day possible.

The winner of MITB that night (if any) wouldn't even be able to use it that same night anyway. The year begins on the following day.

Actually, I think the MITB contract would technically go into affect after the last one cashes in (in a latest-case scenario).

M-A-G
05-01-2007, 04:46 PM
Exactly. Seeing as the last day of grace of the prior winner is the WM where a new winner is going to be crowned, that new contract can't be exercised until the day is over.

BTY is right. You're getting too technical about a program with limited logic.

Dramatically, it could work, and nobody would care.

Stop acting like there are rules and/or logic.

Sadly that applies to anything anyone could ever hypothesize (sp?) about WWE storylines. You could never use "But that doesn't make sense" as a counter-point to someone elses stupid idea.

Isn't one of the complaints about WWE booking lack of logic? :p

Um, I'm pretty sure the Money in the Bank contract goes into affect immediately after the guy wins it. I don't see why there can only be one, either. I mean there are three World Championships, why can there only be one contender?

And it has been made perfectly clear that the MITB winner can use it up to and including the night of the following WrestleMania. It is pretty much WrestleMania to WrestleMania. Kennedy using the shot on the show would be fine.

I'm just not too big on a single title changing hands multiple times on a WrestleMania show. The Hardcore Title in 2002 was kind of an exception, as that title was made to be parody of Vince Russo booking.

By the way, I think Kennedy announcing he will cash in the title shot at WrestleMania 24 is brilliant. It not only does the predictable, and that is allows Kennedy to cash in the shot before WrestleMania, and look smarter because of it, but it also explains why he didn't cash it in after the Last Man Standing or Fatal Fourway matches at Backlash, when the Champions were exhausted.

It would be hard to pull off, but I think an angle where Mr. Kennedy gets cold feet about using his title shot, paranoid that it's not the right time, and he eventually waits himself into a corner, and he actually does wait until WrestleMania time to cash it in.

The WWE could really use this to promote WrestleMania 24. They should create some kind of WrestleMania 24 graphic, and start hyping the matches now. Have a WrestleMania 24 match graphic in the background, and have the three World Title belts on the top of the screen. Underneath the belts are three graphics. One is of Mr. Kennedy, with the MITB graphic minimised next to him, the second is a box labelled "Royal Rumble Winner" and the third is a question mark. The World Titles are rotating, to signal that no one really knows what is going to happen, besides there being three World Titles on the line; Mr. Kennedy will be challenging for one of them, the RR winner will be challenging for another.

The sooner the WrestleMania 24 promotion starts, the sooner people will get in the mood, and who knows, this year WrestleMania could actually feel like a WrestleMania.

Money in the Bank was originally described as valid from the moment it was won until next Mania. So technically, since we're all being anal, it lasts 366 days and could overlap on Mania only. Never said "oh, but you have to wait until tomorrow." In fact, speculation was abound that the winner might cash in that night in the first one.

But the fact is, WWE policies change because it's a fake show with no continuity.

Kennedy wins the Rumble. At WM 24 wins the World Championship. Cena has a grueling match for the WWE title and wins, Kennedy cashes in and pins Cena to unify the 2 titles.
