Mayweather by unanimous point decision.
Mayweather, I just think he'll be too quick and too evasive for De La Hoya to win on points, let alone by KO.
Can't f'n wait either way

Mayweather by Majority Decision.
Oscar will win with a decision ( Contreversial!!! ) and it will set up the rematch. Cause we all know the real money is in the rematch. And thats just how boxing is.

"I'm a real motherfucker." Get the fuck outta here, Mayweather.
De La Hoya on points or late stoppage. Mayweather needs to use that speed for 12 rounds because he won't stop Oscar. Oscar has far too much power and a very solid chin and only was stopped by a middleweight in his whole career.

watched the fight... it was good not great... they tried to box to win points and rarely really mixed it up. hoya threw a ton of punches and tried working the body all fight but most of his punches didn't get and ones that did had little behined them.
Mayweather didn't do much, dances, clinched, let Hoya tire out (which didn't really happan) but when he did throw his punches they hit.
Mayweather won, but could have lost, hoya stopped using his Jab around the 8th, I think if he had kept with it he would have won the points.
If I remember correctly it was 2 judges to 1 for mayweather.
Mayweather was the logical pick, hoya was the "fun pick" most people don't like Mayweather, do like Hoya and wanting to see him win translated to people thinking he would. He also show'd up in some of the best shape of his career to the weigh in and the money line went from like 100-300 to 100-150/180 and the over/under was like 6 rounds and pushed to 11.5 after the weigh in.
Somewhere Winky Wright blew his load to this fight.

rematch to come?
I think so.
I thought Oscar won by 2 rounds. Won 6 of the first 8 easily. Mayweather barely caught him with anything in the first 10 rounds.

Pretty let down by Mayweather's performance, he talked more shit than Matt Hughes and Tito Ortiz ever have combined.

Doubt it, I don't think this is mayweathers last fight either, no matter what he says.

hoya fights for points these days, not for wins... he threw a ton of body punches and most of them were missed or blocked... he had multiple round of over 50 punches and hit 20% or less (I could be a little off, just going my memory) where Mayweather threw less but connected them at double or triple the rate.
The more the fight sits on me today, the less I liked it and both fighters danced more then fought, I'm suprised they broke a sweat.

If boxing's dead, why is Oscar looking at $35M for the fight?

Probably because this was the most overrated overhyped fight to happen in the last 5 years in boxing. I thought it was a pretty boring fight.
How much money did he earn off of sale's as opposed to what was just outright given to him? I bet this fight garnered a lot of popularity but it wasnt because it was a good fight. It had a ton of shit swirling around it, and by shit, I mean riculous drama. It started out as fight hype, then quickly turned to the big MMA attacks (not going to touch the issue), and with fight fans, that garnered more attention then anything else. Along with the "Is this fight going to save boxing from the spiraling direction it is going?" question, that we all wanted an answer to.
Both fighters are going to get paid. The money was always in boxing, and will be for a long time. However, the fame and attraction isnt. Chuck Liddell may not make as much money as Floyd Mayweather, but I can tell you from personal experience, that I see the guys face a lot more often.

This man gets it.
