View Full Version : I can honestly say I'm exicted about seeing Mark Henry back again

I would like to see Henry take the title off of Bats, it would be interesting. So long as Henry can stay healthy for more than one match.

Exactly, and if you are going to push superman babyfaces, you need to have monster heels for them to go against. And it is much better for a face to be chasing a title.

As early as an hour ago I would have agreed with you, but it's all a moot point now. Batista won't be World Heavyweight Champion for Henry to win it off.

I would also have liked to have seen Mark Henry beat Batista at Judgment Day for the WHT. Henry isn't as awful as everyone says. Well, I guess in some ways he is, but he's a genuinely nice guy, and in kayfabe terms, he is one scary motherfucker. I'd honestly chuckle to myself if I found out Mark Henry destroyed Batista to win the World Heavyweight Title.

I wouldn't give him a long run, though (as I get the feeling you would). The best thing about Mark Henry is that he's not tied to the main event. You could easily have him job to a guy like Matt Hardy, elevating Hardy to the main event. I probably wouldn't step over a month with him as World Champion.

This could also get WWE's charity shit more attention. Henry sees a lot of the sick kids in hospital, and whatnot (probably because he's injured most of the time). It would be a lot more meaningful if they were getting a visit from "former World Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry," rather than "colossal piece of shit, Mark Henry."

Mark Henry got over as a monster heel.

It won't be hard for him to get over as one again.

It's not like they are going to put Mark out there and expect to put on a 30 minute technical match.

But yeah, Henry isn't the best choice for a World Champion, but he does have dedication to the business (I mean, so many years and all he has in a European Championship...oh, and millions of dollars), and his last stint on SmackDown! was somewhat enjoyable.

I think it also helped that Henry was put up against feces on SmackDown!. Batista and The Undertaker just don't do it for me, I actually like Henry more than both of them, even if he doesn't have the same quality matches behind him. If we were talking about Henry beating an Edge or a Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight Title, I'd have to call it silly.

Mr. Nerfect
05-07-2007, 11:13 PM
But he could do it.

No, he couldn't. Henry was made to resemble the sub-bosses from Mortal Kombat. A few hits and you're done. He's not meant to go for any period of time in the ring, even if he were to be considered for the main event. That's where the lack of credibility Henry carries for being a piece of shit for most of career comes in.

I can buy Henry crushing people with his size, because his size is very real. If he suddenly became skilled? I would have a tough time believing it.

You may have brain damage. Go get checked now.

Mizark is a danger to anyone who gets in the ring with him, and Smackdown (or WWE in general) can't afford any more injuries.

In short, burn his contract, cut losses.

I'm pretty sure Mark Henry could techincally kick your ass, that would be classic.

Also, as we all know, whatever happened 6 months ago rarely makes a difference in wrestling unless Vince deems it so. so if Vince wants to erase Mark's past, he can.

Mark Henry's last run was actually really good. He is a totally credible threat, his mic skills have improved, and while yes, he's not going to win Match of the Year, he can be sold to marks. This is a business, one in which money talks, skills walk. Booked right, in a year, you all could be singing the praises of Henry's Monster Heel character.

BigDaddyCool
05-07-2007, 11:20 PM
You know, which Henry's size, it doesn't even need to be a year, all he needs to do is crush another monster, say Kane or Kahli, and he could just beat everyone else down and go straight after the title.

The One
05-07-2007, 11:23 PM
If Bats wins the Title next week, I'd have Henry come out, crush him, and take the title around SummerSlam. He'd be a legit unstoppable monster. When Taker gets back he goes after Batista first, then starts in a program with Henry to win back his title. I mean really, this is just as good if not better than anything else they could have planned inbetween now and then.

You know what, fuck that shit, better idea. Lashley wins the title back from Vince. Vince blames Umaga and starts smackng him around, right when Umaga starts gettin mad and is about to hit Vince, out comes Mark Henry. Henry destroys Umaga and joins with Vince. Then Henry beats the shit out of Lashley. Of course then that means Umaga losses his push I've been hoping for. Damn.

You know what I want to see? I wanna see a guy who's not 6'7/400lbs pushed as a "monster" heel. How about making a guy a monster heel by virtue of the fact that he is absolutely fucking ruthless? How cool would it be to see a guy the size of like Little Guido take down Batista and "break his leg" with some brutal submission or something? Give him like a shooter/submission gimmick, and have him be unstoppable.

They did that, he is named Taz. But it is easier with big guys. You need someone who is extra special to make him into a small monster heel. Someone like Taz.

To be fair, I think there are plenty of guys who have come up with the ability of Taz. It's just ECW was better at utilising talent than Vince is.

In OVW, Boris Alexiev had a pretty sweet gimmick going on. "I will knock you down, if you get up, I will knock you down again. If you give me your arm, I will break it," etc. Pretty cool shit, and whilst not massive, he does have a good physique, so he could pull of ass-kicker well. He's Santino Marella now, so there's not much chance of him going badass.

I would love to see Little Guido go shooter on everyone. I don't know, just show him snorting up crack before the match, and just going into the ring against The Great Khali, and firing off some quick dropkicks to the leg, taking Khali off his feet, and then him beating the shit out of Khali with some vicious kicks. It's really not that unbelieveable that a little guy beats a bigger guy. I see people always spout of shit like "When a big guy and a little guy have the same training, the big guy always wins." Personally I think that's crap, and only works in theory, not taking affecting factors into account, but that's not the point here:

A little guy who is billed as having more training, more skill, more desire, and what have you, could beat a larger guy. I've seen smaller kids at my school beat the shit out of larger guys all the time. Some people don't know how to take a punch, some guys can't deal with little guys who show more fight than they do, etc. I think there is money in a little shoot-style wrestler kicking the shit out of bigger ones. I don't care how big you are, there are ways to kick you that hurt like shit regardless.

I'm not actually sure if I've seen one of your rants. I think your "facts" convince mostly yourself, though. I'm just saying.

I hope you weren't implying that I don't use facts to back up my arguments, because none of my ranting material has been based off anything but either what the WWE has put forth (responsive to facts) or on my own personal opinions using inferences. So yeah, my rants are mainly playing off the facts of actual existence. i.e. "This is a rock, here are the things you could do with a rock."

If you were implying I don't use facts, that's just childish, because my of my rants are on the future. Hard to use "facts" when arguing the future. If I were arguing past, you might have a valid point.

Tovo talking about a wrestler: What they are and what they've been.

Alienoid talking about a wrestler: What they could be.

Hard to compare the two really, but I stick to thing that are and not what could be. Hell I could write 20 pages on what you COULD do with WALTMAN but I don't.

I agree.

Feel free to write one and a bit word pages on what to do with Waltman. I'd probably read it, and if it compels me, I'd probably agree that the WWE are idiots for not doing it. Sure, they can't do everything, but if something more fascinating comes along from random fans, why the fuck are they paying writers?

Anyway, it's just always been my philosophy that the WWE writers are pretty fucking amateurish, and when they say "We have nothing for them," it pisses me off. Wasted potential because of laziness is pretty damn awful. But that's just my opinion.

Wrong. He has had the "strongest man in the world" gimmick 2 times, "black militant/separatist" once, "sexual chocolate", and "monster heel". While that really is only4 gimmicks, they aren't just "rarrr I'm big, fear me."
