When IMDB fails, go to the more detailed version of filmsite.org at http://www.filmsite.org/fantasyfilms.html multipage shit there, will find some stuff. Why you need this list?

Seen half of STARDUST, and I knew when I saw the trailer I would love it, so:
Stardust
Fern Gully
Wizard of Oz
Brazil
Alice In Wonderland
King Kong (2005)
These two....fucking loved them but none remembers them.
Solar Babies - A group of kids on rollerskates who find this glowing orb and try to escape. Awsome classic.
The Quest / Frog Dreaming - Had the kid who was Elliot in ET as this kid who would go off and investigate this lake and what lies beneath it.

And that Star Wars/Ewok spinoff film, anyone remember that? Where that rebel fighter and his kid sister crash land on Endor and theres like a massive troll out to get them. Probably the Rebel fighter Luke shot down right before the Death Star attack in A New Hope.

He was in 3, wasn't he?
Since most of the 80s Henson cult flicks have been mentioned, Return to Oz. The original should have been done like this, too.
First Knight
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves

You gonna count Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children?
ClockShot
05-09-2007, 09:50 PM
Does Merlin count?
Also. Pan's Labyrinth.
PapaGeorgio
05-09-2007, 10:18 PM
Howard the Duck
Flight of the navigator
The Goonies
Monster Squad
I don't care if they don't fit into your fantasy mold, listing all the movies you guys did was like one giant nostalgic punch in the face and these 3 should be thrown in.

When I think of "fantasy" I think more of LOTR-ish shit.. Not really Sci-Fi..

Maybe because FK is? The whole fantasy idea that it could be deemed worthy to watch, or be considered a film anyway.
LOL I dunno, guess because I have never seen it, and although I would say its not a fantasy movie, I didn't wanna say it wasn't in case. I thought maybe it had stuff with Merlin, Excalibur or whatever.

Robin Hood and King Arthur are always fantasy. Even the movie Arthur is fantasy, though as lacking in Wizardry as it is in historical accuracy, good acting, and so on.
They're both based on romantic legends which fit very much into the fantasy genre. Besides, an evil witch, a black "prince," and big explosions in a period piece?
Yeah, fantasy.
The most "fantastic" thing about FK is that it's got a city (Camelot) which could not have existed. No magic, it's a drama about Lancelot, and while I don't remember if Merlin was a part of it, I do know magic wasn't.

I would suggest the 'Witch' in RH is an overboard representation of a gypsy or whatnot. Supposed 'witches', voodoo doctors, high priests of haiti, they are real, or at least are part of this reality.
Gun powder and other assorted materials alike could've/can and do cause explosions.
African tribes and foreign lands had/still have monarchy.
Robin Hood is more folklore/historical than fantasy imo. Its a simple love story with the whole, a single man with nothing rises above the bad (rich) and steals from them and gives to the good/poor.
Kane Knight

Naw. She was an English witch.
Gypsies are nothing like that.
Gunpowder of the period was anachronistic in the West.
The "Black Prince" I was speaking of was the Sherriff. That's why I used the quotes. He's filling the fantasy role of the evil brother. In fact, in this, he was filling in for Prince John.
It's a folklore story, but then...So's King Arthur.
In any sense, it's not horribly worth arguing over. It's low fantasy, as opposed to high fantasy (Tolkien, Oz, etc.). If you don't weant to count it, fine.

I hear the second one (Not related to the first one) is actually good.
And for Narnia, the BBC versions have shitty effects, but are enjoyable.

And, in turn Dragonheart.

Best Fantasy Movie list? That movie was insulting to the intelligence of Hero's 10 year old daughter. :p
Anyway, I'm not really sure it qualifies, but the Black Cauldron is high fantasy, based on a book series. It has swords that are magic and an evil wizard (Really, he's the devil) and fantastic creatures.
I don't much like the movie compared to the books, but mostly because they made Tarran Luke Skywalker.
It's also based on a folktale, like King Arthur and Robin Hood.
