Winning streaks are fine, and when they actaully pull them off, they are cool. But the streaks that I hate are the ones in my underwears...wait no, I mean the undefeated/never been pinned type streaks. They seem so forced and unnatural story lines. Discuss.

The ones I hate are where they are winning streaks against jobbers, like Umaga's so called 'undefeated streak'.

Yeah, honestly, with the amount of dirty finishes that happen, it bugs me when a Goldberg or someone goes on a long undefeated streak. Come on, are we supposed to believe that referees who fail to see the most obvious rulebreaking and fall into comas after being brushed by a feather suddenly do everything absolutely right because a guy is on a streak?

Goldberg's streak was awesome. I mean it was a great ride with very little pay off at the end, but it got him over big time. There is really not a single other winning streak I can think of that I felt was pulled off half as well as that one.

Mr. Perfect's was pretty good for a little bit.

I'm talking about how Hassan had a winning streak that morphed into a never been pinned streak, for example.

Also, it seems like half of TNA's roster has never been defeated in a 1 on 1 match. Like Somao Fatass was on a winning streak, but then he lost his title in a 3 way match.

the thing about Goldberg's streak and why it worked so well was because they started him at the bottom and he went up gradually. They didn't put him with a Scott Hall 10 wins into the streak. He worked guys like Hugh Morrus, Barbarian and what not for a while. They also used house shows to count the streak and made them mean something.

wasn't there a screwup with Hassan where Benoit beat him after a headbut, but that wasn't the original finish?

The Hassan streak got botched in a match with Chris Benoit on Raw, and I'm pretty sure it was Hassan's fault. I forget how the match actually ended, but you could tell that the match was supposed to end with Benoit doing a diving headbutt onto a ring bell that Hassan had concealed. Something fucked up and they had to end the match on the fly, which somehow gave Benoit the DQ victory.

Never been pinned streaks are bullshit. Once you've lost, you've lost. End of story.

I agree, you shouldn't call it a streak anymore after any kind of loss, but that's not to say that they can't continue to be booked without being pinned or submitting. Marcus Cor Von right now, for example, has been on the losing end of matches, but he's never actually been beaten clean. They haven't said anything about him being unbeaten though, so that's a good thing.

Also if you recall, with Chris Masters at first, I think he was 'unbeaten', but he had lost a match by DQ or something, so they kept saying that he had 'a sparkling win/loss record'. Nothing wrong with that.
