There you go. Nice, detailed, big cutouts of the Transformers from the new movie. What do you think?

I'm not sure if I really like the flame job on Optimus Prime. It makes him a bit hard to look at, with the conflicting colour and such. But it looks pretty sweet too. Bumblebee looks pretty cool, but the codpiece is highly unnecessary. The detail on Ironhide is ridiculous, I think he probably looks the coolest of the Autobots. Jazz looks okay too, but again, codpiece.

The Decepticons all look like boned-up, spiked-out versions of their old selves. Especially Megatron and Starscream. It's cool, but it's different.

Thoughts?

The way the transformer's look should be of the least concern as far as how good the movie will be.

I wouldn't have a problem, if they all looked more like Optimus Prime does in the pics, you know taking direct cues from the original cartoons but with a modern spin, but that thing they call Starscream looks nothing like the Starscream I know and love. If they didn't get the original voice, or even someone that sounds like Starscream I'm going to do something very bad.

For what the movie is about (giant robots), I think I'll be happy with how it'll turn out. I like the robot designs, scenes are looking nice, and it should be good fun.

I dunno, that trailer has sorta made me feel heaps better about the movie. Some of the transformations look sweet as. And really, if you consider current tastes and evolution in what moviegoers want, if they'd made Megatron and Starscream or even Optimus Prime look too much like their cartoon counterparts, they would have been blocky and unmaneuvreable (sp?) as hell. Kinda feeling better about it all.
