I got really odd problems I cannot solve -

I can't log onto MSN messenger? - I remember I disabled it as a start-up thing, but now I cant remember how to get to the list of programmes that initialise upon start-up. But I dont think that would cause it to not log in. I ran the connection problem wizard and it said check my firewall but its listed as allowed and still doesn't work.

Also, I cannot log into hotmail on an internet page, it goes straight to PAGE NOT FOUND, so I cant get into my email and this problem also is present like say if I want to log onto my amazon account to buy something. Anytime I need to imput an address, except myspace works?!?!?

Plug Ins??? - Everytime I try to load a trailer with quicktime on the apple site, it says 'PLUGIN FAILED TO INITIALISE PROPERLY' - yet I have all the necessary downloaded stuff and this is a year old PC.

I just dont get it.

Any help appreciated and will rep constantly for the duration of my time here :D

Cheers

Reinstall Quicktime. Or better yet, Quicktime Alternative.

In fact, reinstall all of the programs you're having problems with. Reinstalling MSN should fix your problem, if not then it's something with your computer itself. Reinstall your browser and see if that fixes your problem. If not it's probably Microsoft's fault but I don't know why it would always do that for you.

Do you have a Mac or a PC? If you have a mac, well I just found this thing called adium which allows you to use loads of messenger systems including MSN/AIM, without downloading them. Search 'adium' on google, i was having similar problems until i found this through complete luck.

Pidgin for PC/Linux. Better than MSN, in my opinion.

OK so I just turned off my firewall and its letting me sign into MSN and that in turn allows me to sign into hotmail on the site page and Amazon, but the thing is MSN WAS/IS on the list of programmes allowed?!?! - So right now I got no firewall, but good old Norton is on. So is that all ok yeah?

I'll get onto re-doing quicktime...

Thanks a lot guys!

K so I d/l the new quicktime package; player, itunes and what not, installed it and everytime I go on certain sites that require it, like I just went to go look at the new fantastic 4 movie trailer page, and it stills says there is a plugin error contained on the page, but that cant be since its always been doing it lately and its a new player, the plugin failed to initialise???

please help its killing me
