Well, that is what the main page news column reads. Since when is speculation over who is getting fired news?
Plus, duh Sandman is next, who cares?

ah, who are we kidding? It seems like Vince may be just getting ready to soon knock down the (immensely small) sand-castle that is WWECW.

Sandman just isn't for WWE.

Yeah, I feel ya on that, it just seems like the whole concept of his character is just basically half Austin half Dreamer what with the beer drinking (except that Austin never bloodies himself with the can after consuming a beer) and the wooden cane...couldn't care less really what happens to ECW.

How could he be half Austin, half Dreamer? He was before both of those characters, in fact he helped make the Dreamer character.

Let's be fair, he's not for anybody. Unless he can take bumps through tables and/or use his cane, he's pretty much useless. He was a product of ECW and Paul Heyman's greatness.
To be honest, I think he should have gotten the axe long before Sabu should have. Now we can't even get an RVD/Sabu vs Hardy Boys match before those 2 go. What is Sandman good for at this point?

Why because he hit him on the back with a cane?

Never liked Sandman much, even in ECW. He definitely is a true ECW-legend. He's one of the first names that comes to mind when you hear ECW, along with RVD Dreamer Tazz and Sabu. But I never liked him as much as them.

Yeah, he wasn't much of a work, just willing to do anything to his body to get over, well anything that didn't require a ton of work or dedication. Well basiclly he was will to fall off anything into anything to get over.

Am I the only one who thinks Sandman coming to the ring without Enter Sandman is quite rediculous?

I loved Sandman back in ECW, and it honestly hurts (literally my stomach starts to bleed and everything) to see him working for Vince. I'm glad he could leave, maybe head to TNA.

His best days are way behind him, and besides his match at One Night Stand 2005 he's not really done anything other than coming out and hitting people with his cane... we all know it's gonna happen.

Yeah, Sandman will go. The Undertaker is a pussy bitch and doesn't like him.
It's a shame that the WWE never even truly invested in the character. I heard a discussion between two people at work, and it went something like this.
"I watched ECW yesterday. What do you think of The Sandman?"
"He tries too hard to be like Stone Cold Steve Austin."
"Yeah, but he's still pretty cool."
It's kind of aggravating, as Sandman came before Stone Cold, yet he is still seen as a carbon copy. The WWE really should have hammered home Sandman is the original, and people might have really gotten into him. They should have sprung for Enter Sandman, too.

Sandman never made his presence felt in the Ecw. All he got was a stupid beef with striker and not stryker.

Hey. Since this thread is about Sandman and all...
Anyone remember when WWECW started and his gimmick was that he was the guy who hated bad gimmicks and whacked them with his stick? ...And you guys thought the WWE writers were bad. They still have complete understanding of the usage of irony.
