Now that TNA had ditched the NWA title, how the hell are they going to claim "World Title" status for their championship? They never leave Florida, for fuck's sake. The world champion of Lichtenstein has more cred than that, at least he defended against MVP in the US. :shifty:

TNA is a modern-day regional promotion living in an era where national and international promotions are the big thing. Just like Hogan, who they are negotiating with (and no wonder--they both live in the past...), TNA lives in the past when it comes to location/travel. I'm sure 99.9% of those guys would KILL to get out of Florida, and tour around the states and the world like WWE does.

Well there are a few, like Christian, who work TNA BECAUSE of the lack of travel. Still though, damn fine points, I never thought about how TNA is basically reliving the days of regional promotions, only with a national TV presence.

^ I hope for TNA's sake there's no Southern, or Northern Florida champs staking clame to a Florida State Championship...

Apparently, all you have to do to claim "World Title" status is to have your promotion on a major cable or broadcast TV network. :shifty:

Tenay: Tonight at Slammiversary, we present, for the first time ever, a match to crown the UNDISPUTED CHAMPION OF ALL FLORIDA!
Don West: This isn't even bizzare, it's just sad.

Yes. They're not even vinyl in a Compact Disc era, they're vinyl in the MP3 era.

Fuck that. They're on YouTube. Penguins in the Antarctic can access the internet. Therefore, World Title.

8-Tracks. As in "we know this isn't really going to work, but we're doing it out of sheer stubborn pigheadedness."

Tenay: I couldn't agree more, Don. Is this really what we have come to? Is this really what legends of the business like Sting and Kurt Angle have come to?
Kurt Angle: Oh it's real, it's DAMN REAL!
